I was just wondering thoughts on peeling the covering off the SP cards. I am only putting together a raiders set and the two I have peeled so far have been very difficult to do so. Has anyone in OZCT found an easy way to do this?
Great, now with that protective seal I have to collect two sets, one for our album to enjoy and one to keep it's value, just like the 2012 Peel and reveal
collecting 3 sets, 1 unpeeled, 1 Gold and 1 Stuck on card. only because I could not make up my mind.
I don't even know how many of these I got from my case. Still all in with the commons because I haven't got a folder yet. Does anyone know how close to a complete set would come from a case, many doubles?? I think I'll peel off the protector so I can look at them properly in the folder. Once I complete the set I don't really care about retaining value, I'm not gonna sell 'em.

432 parallels in a case... 196 in the set.... you may be lucky to put 2 sets together (or at least come close to a second set) with a heap of 'triples', ive divided mine into teams but havent sorted into individual sets yet so i cant tell you exactly what to expect.
I thought there was already a thread for this topic. But, my thoughts are, if you are collecting a set leave the peel on. It will be beneficial in the long run. 25 years from now, how many cards will still have the peel on as compared to not on. The silver background will maintain its lustre and remain unscratched.
I will be collecting a 2 sets of Titans unpeeled. One up the right way up and the other upsidedown. I am also peeling a set to get IP signatures on.
I can't keep up with all these threads Blade. Maybe your right about the protective peel, but they just don't look right. If there in the album pages aren't they protected??
IMO... In 20, 30, 50 years time people wanting these cards would be more attracted by, and will definately pay more if the peel is still on. It is how the card came out of the pack and I think by peeling the card, it is no longer mint condition.
I agree... I've still got Jordan cards squirrelled away with the protective coats on. But this was before the boom of signature cards.
I think if you are thinking future investment, I'd imagine the guys collecting will be anal enough that the protective layer would be attractive to them. If you aren't worried about that and prefer the look of them sans-layer, rip it off.
Personally I'm leaving them on. I think it adds something to the card. Personal preference.

You were spot on Shane, I got 2 complete sets of parallels and 40 triples from the case. And by the way, after all the debate, I'm gonna peel!!! If my kids want to sell them when I'm gone, good luck with it. In the meantime, I'm gonna look at 'em without the peel and admire them the way they should look.
speaking of these annoying cards i have about 3 boxes worth i want to move on in one lot. preferably local maybe to someone at the next penrith or parra home games?
