Well i can't even read what you posted....I didn't say that Lyon was horrible, he is probably the pick of Australian spinners for sure but regardless of his stats he's not an average spinner when you consider him against spinners worldwide. I've said before that if you don't have any good spinners then don't play one just for the sake of it, play an extra quick if you have some good ones, available which we do. Sure, a couple aren't doing well in India but Pattinson has been the pick of our bowlers.

Breaking news on Fox Sports News: Shane Watson, James Pattinson, Mitchell Johnson and Usman Khawaja have been stood down from selection for the third Test after failing to submit a required written review on the team's performance in the first two Tests.

All squad players were given five days to submit their review/suggestions for improvement and those four did not - and it has been decided that they will not be considered for selection for breaking the team protocol.

I am speechless. It's fair dinkum f**king Amateur Hour over there!

I reckon Shane Watson's card will be marked before too long and I would describe him as only a 50-50 chance of being selected for the Ashes tour. There were stories during the home season about his "me me me" persona and coupled with his injuries, inconsistency and lack of bowling, I reckon he's buggered.

I feel for the blokes that could actually be bothered completing the report, it is a fairly simple bloody request I would have thought.

What a fucking joke, axe your best bowler...how about the coach and selectors do the same about how they could improve their performances...oh they will need a whole lot more than 3 points!

Johnson and Khawaja also didn't play in the first two tests...bit difficult for them to say how they could improve their performances and how the team could improve...they should have just wrote "put me in there!"

The whole thing is a joke. They are fast running out of players over there.

I think Brad Haddin is a real chance of playing even if wade is fit to play. Steve Smith would have to be happy with these developments too. He has gone from the tourist visa to being an odds on chance of a game.

Next thing we will hear AB will will be playing instead of commentating.......

Gautim Gambhir told Ricky Ponting when we flogged them 4-0 on our soil something along the lines of wait until you get to India and see the pitches we serve up, because the Indians thought we doctored our pictures with plenty of juice in them. Every country is guilty of it. The pitch in the 1st test was a dustbowl, it looked like it was redsoil or clay, I'm going to stop typing because I could go on for ages about a lot of things.

I'll stick with daniel who said above this whole tour has me hanging my head in shame and I feel sorry for Pup.

I'll just add if Wade could hold the "harder chances" how many more wickets would Lyon and the team have overall?

Australia in no way doctor their pitches like India do...every ground in Australia has its own character and is unique...and they have been this way for a long time e.g. the Wacca is bouncy, good for quicks etc. Touring sides know what they are in for. India just prepare dustbowl pitches, even having the pitches nicer for tour games and then turning them into dust and dirt for the tests. Even a past Indian captain and players have spoken out lately about India doctoring pitches and how it is not in the spirit of the game.

No I think Australia and England are two of the most honest countries in keeping pitches true and in the spirit of the game, but every home side makes sure that the pitches are conducive to the conditions that their players normally play under.

I disagree and believe that the grounds in australia don't have the same characteristics that they used to, even the commentators that used to play on these pitches agree. Drop in pitches and T20 has destroyed test cricket IMO. I will agree with you that India do create dustbowls and doctor pitches and do not play in the spirit of the game. Look at the staged protest that media is having against the BCCI in regards to pictures from the series. All the major cricket money lays in India. When money is involved and is a huge contributing factor then corruption is bound to arise, as is soft hearted test players who only see quick dollar signs

I agree that some Australian pitches might not be the same as they used to be while some are much the same, but i don't think they are prepared in a way to greatly favour the home side. Touring sides still have a good idea of what they are in for.
