I cannot for the life of me see how 'Pool fans, including the ones here, can defend this! The FA had cultural experts at the hearing. A friend of mine read the whole 115 pages and said he totally deserved the 8 weeks. Even with the help of cultural experts they said he was an unreliable witness. It's almost like any pool fans immediately ignore any statement against Suarez and think he's some kind of angel who called him negro once and it was meant as some kind of term of affection! Other than that he's never put a foot wrong!
Oh except, he was found to be unrelibale - ie lying - if u see the look on his face when he clashed with Evra, he was NOT being affectionate at all. Oh and there's the little matter of the fulham finger as well...or was that the Fulham fans fault?
He's no angel, he used racist remarks and he's getting punished. To hear and read of Liverpool fans saying - it wouldn't happen to anyone else - we're getting picked on waaa waaa waaa is frankly - PATHETIC!
The way Liverpool fc have behaved over this will probably ensure that few black players will want to go there and join the 1 - count them 1 black player who is currently there...

are you against the ban or the length of the ban? because i initially thought 8 weeks was harsh aswell. but i suppose theyre trying to send a message. i wont judge the FA on this until i see what they do with a more blatant case. this is the first time a bans been given for this in england, so its hard to judge whether it was harsh or not. nothing to compare it to. itll be interesting to see what happens with terry, and any future cases. only time will tell if suarez was given a raw deal...
Suarez says Sorry

More the length I suppose. What he said was deemed to be racially derogatory by the FA. Not sure I agree with their definition because of cultural differences etc. Words and phrases used here are seen as massive insults in other countries.... even in places like the US.
However if that is the letter of the law and both Evra and Suarez have admitted it wasn't intended to racially villify him then I can't understand the length. I would think 2 weeks was more than enough. I think they just want to make an example of someone but have really dug themselves a hole because if Suarez got 8 weeks then Terry almost has to get a couple of years.
It just frustrates me at the inconsistencies with the FA. They wonder why some fans believe there is the bias and favouratism towards some teams in the game.

I have also found man city fans starting to behave more and more like man united fans lately
At least use facts, there is more than 1 black player at Liverpool, but hey telling us there is one sounds better....
No one is denying that the term is racist etc, just saying that everything is not black and white and some things can be twisted to suit an argument..He was never found to be racist only used a racist word, and if it went to court the probability is he would be found not guilty..
He can't make a full apology and admit (whether true or not) as he could end up finding himself in more trouble (courts, civil action etc)
Sorry - I googled liverpool team photo 2011 - only black player I could see was Glen Johnson - apologies if I am wrong. Who else is there?
Also I didn't say he was found to be a racist - I actually used the term 'used racist remarks' - exactly the same as u -
Also how in the world would u know the legal system in England so well as to say he would not be found guilty in a British court of law?
I would also like to kow exactly what u mean in the bolded part of your post....
Remember the Lara Bingle commercials was something like "Where the Bloody Hell are you" or something equivalent, the uproar that it was insulting and "everyone" in Australia laughed at the whinging POMS, can i say POMS..
Remember the channel 9 cricket commercial saying the word PAKI's, well apparantly insulting as well but not to "us" in Australia....
yes, not to 'us', but if you go to england and use it then be prepared for the consequences. should you be exempt because you dont know the rules of the land? ignorance is not an excuse...
GJ in first team, Raheem Sterling , David Amoo, and plenty more young players, they also just signed another young black player Ibe???
I said probability not found guilty as i read a few articles on it, a couple of days ago..
My point is he used a term, that is not considered a racist term in his country, but its been made out that he has committed the crime of the century, everyone jumping up and down..
When i went to England if i had used the term "Paki" i may have found myself in trouble, even though in Australia it's used constantly when the Pakistani Cricket team is touring, so 8 weeks is very harsh, IF Steve Gerrard had said it, then different kettle of fish....
Missed the bold bit...
was saying and no pun intended, that everything is not simple, not black and white, there are reason, excuses etc...

Well when i went i was not aware of it, as im not aware of all other laws of the land, pretty sure if you have travelled around the world you don't know every law etc for that country...

If it's a matter of education - why wan't he educated when he called Glen Johnson negro - as he gave evidence that he did at practise?
