Clarke is a moron, dead set! Didn't mention NZ once, such a sore loser. Absolute joke that Warner got MOM, what happened to the principle that MOM will come from the winning side? Warner batted very well, not having Mitchell Johnson with the bat proved costly..

I have to question the DRS or maybe even my eyes, The Hussey wicket didn't look like it was out when watching it, and 1 of the Lyon wickets looked DEAD PLUMB. I think that they should have a third umpire that automatically over turns howlers, like they do in the ryobi cup, and stick with the umpires call with close LBW's.

****...we tear our team apart after one loss. Imagine if we'd gone 25 years without a single Test win somewhere...OUCH!!!

I think the new selection panel need to be given time to sort out the "stayers" from the "strugglers", or at least come up with some kind of policy/direction.

The injuries to Watson, Marsh and Harris have certainly upset the balance of our team.

I think ideally Usman Khawaja would be No. 5 or 6 - perhaps the future might be Watson, Warner, Marsh, Clarke, Khawaja, Christian in the top six when Punter and Huss finish up. We are probably as blessed with bowling stocks as we have been since 2006/07 when McGrath (21 wickets), Warne (23), Lee (20) and Clark (26) had an outstanding combined home summer against England.

20 wickets won't be a problem for our team, it's the lack of gritty team scores of 280-300 in 95 overs, as opposed to 160 all out in 45 overs that is the problem at the moment.

I really dont know what to write.... been sitting here on and off for 2 hours, trying to summarise the series, giving my highs and lows, but I keep deleting what I write out of frustration, disapointment, disgust, just sheer disbelief..... At the same time I applaud the Kiwis for not loosing site of hope, by getting in there, giving it a real red hot shot, they played well, in both games, not great by any standards, but well enough to give the Aussies a real show.

Changes need to be made, and more should have been made in this series. It was an opportunity lost to play some new blood throughout the batting line up. We tried it with ball and found some winners. My big fear is if we make to many changes for the Indian test series then we may get slaughtered. I think far more will stay then go.

I am not going to speculate on who should go or stay, I would rather pick my team once we know who is fit and available.

As I have said before, it is great to see everyones feedback, good or bad as it is refreshing too see that TEST cricket is alive and well !!

As for the Kiwis...well done. Got away with it. Australian batting is at its lowest since WSC and 1978/79. Hussey, Hughes, Haddin and Ponting should all be celebrating Xmas at home this year.

As for bagging Pup, he's been pretty good thus far. I think losing to the world's 2nd worst Test side may have dented his pride and his ability to think straight.

All good observations....and to be fair all Tubby asked him were questions about Warner....he made a complete meal of the Warner interview too - 4 questions and two were the same!

Agreed with the above - there's nothing like a great test match.... Must say too - for Slats to add so much excitement when Bracewell scattered Lyons stumps tells u he loves it too. He's as Aussie as they come and it was a superb piece of commentary...he, Smith and Greig in the last session were excellent. Mark 'Nico' Nicholas can shove it - to start calling Warner 'Davey?' wtf???

But remind them it was a 'legal' delivery at the time.

Good on the Kiwis, they showed heart. I reckon losing to NZ is like losing to your pesky little brother. You get over it after half an hour but the little bastard won't ever let you forget. But you love him all the same. Tis a pity it wasn't a 3 Test series leading in to a decider.

On another note, just think who'd you'd pick first for Boxing Day. Patto, Warner, Lyon. Combined 11 TESTS and they're the first picked. Cummins if fit has played 1. I'd still stick with Kawaja after 6 Tests. Clarke remains for the time. Add Watson and Shaun Marsh. Throw in Siddle too.

MY Boxing Day Side:
Watson- The Best Man for The Job but otherwise Marsh Or Khawaja to open the batting.
Warner- He Scored a 123* Not Out, Enough Said.
Khawaja or Marsh- Khawaja Will be there in the Future but Form wise Shaun Marsh.
Ponting- Think that his Still Has Something Left and He always does well on the Opening Day of a Test Match.
Clarke- Captain
Hussey- Our Highest Run Scorer in This Year's Calendar Year.
Haddin- Should Stay at least Until Tim Paine Returns.
Siddle- Australia most experienced Bowler
Pattinson- Australia's Best Bowler so Far.
Starc, Hilfenhaus, Copeland, Harris or Dan Christian
Lyon- Australia Leading Wicket Taker at 22 Wickets

Looks like we're finally thinking outside the box.

I hope this will be worth it, it would be great for these guys to spend hours in the nets, not against bowling machines either. I'd like to see the net bowlers be fringe players who have a point to prove, who will really test these guys. None of the players selected in the PM's XI will be in attendance.
I like the idea, lets hope it works.

On another note, Tim Paine underwent further surgery on his fractured finger today, he will be out of action for a further 3-4 months. So i guess Haddin has til next summer before he gets the boot.

Also Phil "Bowled Martin Caught Guptil"Hughes has dropped out of the Big Bash to concentrate on his technique for the longer version. And as the Shield season doesnt start again til Feb, he only has the Pm's XI game, and it would appear Sydney Grade cricket to do so.

I would of liked to of seen David Warner out of the PM's XI game and of kept him as a suprise for the first test, dont think we should be giving the indians a preview of our new Opener.

Off topic but the BBL is becoming a farce with the 'stars' they used to promote the new franchises nowhere to be seen.

As for the camp... LOL.

Problem with Australia, and this starts with kids...they don't play enough.

Can only bowl 4 overs in juniors. Retire at 30. Crap like that. You gotta teach kids to win AND lose. Kids learn there are better kids and not so good kids but to act like a TEAM!!!

Most of our Test stars, when was the last time they played a Sheffield Shield match? 2 years? They tour and play the odd first class match.

And like league, they are athlete fit and not cricket fit. To be a bowler you bowl bowl bowl.

Lastly, read about Ryan Harris today in the papers and how he wants to be good for more than 1 test in a row, but is worried about his hip going again. You know what? RETIRE!!!! Anyone who can't stay fit and play for Australia...go away! And when did he become 'indispensable' to the Australian Test team? He's played, what 10-15 tests? Far out. I'm not crying if I see him in or out ever again. Handy while there, let's move on. Siddle, Pattinson, Cummins, Hazelwood, Starc...and you've got Copeland, Cutting, and anyone else to throw in.

Sorry...I'm probably just having a grouch. But there is not enough 1st class cricket being played, old timers who should be gone are lingering, and fringe Test players are being treated like living bloody legends!!!!!!

I am a Ryan Harris fan as I used to watch him play for SA but this post is pretty much correct on all points... I believe if he was fit at least 80% of the time Harris is in the best 11, but I am more than happy to keep going with the "kids" and forget about harris until he can prove he can stay on the park for an extended period of time...

Now if we can just fix the top and middle order batting....

I don't want to bag Harris...he has been handy. But at his age, he was always going to be a bridging player. Its the attitude, more from CA, that they will persist with bung players who always seem to end up bung - Shaun Marsh being another one.

And yeah, funny how in 2 tests I thought the bowling was pretty good all round. Hell, I'd even go with 4 quicks and a spinner and 5 bats and WK/bat. The bowlers seem to always handle themselves alright.

My wife says I'm grouchy.
