I think Gary Payton is a lock for the Hall of Fame.
Often referred to as one of the top 10 Point Guards of all time.
His defensive skills in the early and mid 90s were superb.

As inspirational as Mourning's comeback has been, I do not think he is HOF material.

I agree with what you say about Payton, I don't understand how poeple don't think Gary could make it in. REMEMBER THE 90'S GUYS! GARY PAYTON= THE GLOVE!

I want to correct you on your next statement. I believe that ZO IS HOF material, but he was restricted from fulfilling that just as others were such as Penny Hardaway and Grant Hill. That's all I have to say, not to give an exscuse for Mourning, but merely saying that had his kidney ailment not happened, he would have been averaging 20/10 and 3.5 blocks for 12+ seasons and seeing how he dominated when healthy I know that none of you can argue that he would have declined. He would only have declined with age and he would have been a definite HOF player, just as Penny and Hill would have been. Oh well, that's just life, at least they didn't die!

I don't think Timmy Bugz will make it, he was awesome, at least 5-Time All-NBA? But he didn't win enough. Some of his seasons were absolutely SICK statistically and his killer crossover too!! But he didn't average enough of those seasons.

As good as Zo has been he isn't gonna make the hall - Payton will - as someone else said - he's mentioned as a top 10 pg of all time by experts in the US - they see more games than we do....
Tim Hardaway is 0 chance!! If he makes it every 4 or 5 time all star is in.....to be blunt he achieved very little in his career both personally (ie all nba 1st team, mvp type numbers) and in the team environment.....(did one heat team make the conf finals?)

Thanks for the info Jezza, I don't know squat about Ewing's career, lol. Zo's just such a dominant presence, which overshadows the likes of Ewing (not saying Ewing can't be dominant). But I'm biased. Zo will make my Hall Of Fame:D :p So will Tim Hardaway Whitechoc and Locky! haha Ewing sure wont!

i havent been bothered to read some of the dribble in this thread..
but for anyone who doesnt think payton will get into the HOF (or deserves to be in it),,, you probably thought harold miner was the next jordan too...

payton is a HOF player and will be inducted..
zo also deserves to be in the HOF, and is an 80% chance

Another strong season, if as a starter, would get another DPOTY I think.

I agree. He was a shot-blocking demon when he filled in for Shaq. He averaged 4.00 blocks per game, how long has it been since someone averaged 4 per game?? And this is in his 13th season, imagine if he hadn't been injured he would have won so many DPOTY. I thought that if Shaq was out the whole season he would've won it again.

Tim Hardaway was pretty good though, as a point guard, scorer, leader and statistically he was great. He just lacked winning I suppose. And despite the fact that he was emotionally great for the Heat dynasty in the 90's, ZO was the centre man there, not Tim.
