2006 NBA Champs Miami Heat!

I was thinking about that yesterday, this is the first time since '01 when the Sixers made it that I've really been into a Finals series. I was really excited watching these last couple of games and having players in the mix that I've admired since I was a kid made it mean alot more.

throw in the mailman and youve got quite a deserving quartet :)

good to see zo get one, especialy with the heat after all his troubles. and glove too.

good on em. this years playoff have just seemed to be really close the whole way through

Great to see GP, Walker & Zo get a ring at long last.

The Heat dominated today, it was only their lazy pass turnovers in the first half that kept the Mavericks in it. Wade was incredible all series, very Jordanesque in the way he controlled the games in the fourth quarter. Thought the Heat got the better of the refs today, surprising given it was on the Mavs home court, and Kudos to Cuban for clapping his team even though they lost.

I must admit cuban's reaction this time was better than the last game lol, at least this time it wont cost him $250,000!

Agreed about a lot said above - Cuban was v gracious and I do agree the heat got the 50-50 calls but they also deserved to win. They ALL stepped up - except for perhaps Shaq who still had 12 boards. I think the crowd was booing Stern not the heat - he gets booed every time he picks up a mike!!

Zo/Posey/Haslem/Walker all had great moments - u couldn't really say the same of Terry/Howard/Nowitzki who all fell away in the 2nd half. I was disappointed Dirk didn't go to the hole in the 4th quarter - I know he was getting doubled but he was at home and would have gotten some calls cos he's their franchise.

Agreed - the series was exciting and I didn't want it to end!! - awesome to see some of those old fellas pick up rings. I used to hate Zo after he left Charlotte but I'm glad he got a ring and he had a terrific game.

No what am I gonna watch - english soccer is over, the nba is finished - gonna have to talk to the wife again......

=D> Woohoo! I haven't felt like this ever about a playoff series! Feeling so good at the moment! Congradulations Zo/GP! Thoroughly deserved! I've been a Zo follower since '93 when I first started collecting cards, so good to see him get a ring!
This game just goes to show Zo is still a very capable player!
11:31 min, 3-4 fg, 2-3 ft, 6 boards, 5 blocks, 8 points. I honestly don't think he should retire, he is still very competative and can definitly put up the numbers.

The Avatar must have worked Funk! I also picked it! Heat in 6. I knew they wouldn't drop after getting on a strong run, it's been that way all series. They're unbeatable when they start their run. The Heat have really stood up and showed their true worth. Wade is a Superstar!

Go Heat!

I don't think he would want to retire, it looks like he still enjoys the game way too much to give it up! He killed the Mavs on defense when he was in!

Very true JV, he doesn't look like he's lagging in anyway, I'd like to see him get into a starting line-up more often, or at least get better game time when he's doing well. Who cares anyway, Heat Win! woohoo

Glad to see my boy Jwill get a ring.. not so happy to see walker/wade grab one, but they worked hard to get what they wanted.. im surprised they won today i must admit..

honerable mention: must admit, the bulls gave the eventual champions a very tough time in round 1 ;)

Bulls could be shock east champs next year

At least the east is in good hands with wade,LBJ and the bulls overall team

The west however is now open, Sonics on the rise

must say this... most enjoyable series since Jordan's second 3 peak for me! Actually inspired me/some mates to play streetball with some dudes down the street. My first games in a few years.. only made one jumper out of about 10 lol At least my passes to the cutters stopped me from looking ridiculous! Thank god it was only against a few guys who didn't belong on a court and somehow my team won! I was thinking the Bulls gave the Heat the most grief thru the playoffs.. but white choc already brought it up :) GO BULLS 2007! You guys think Wade will win another ring with Shaq, Zo and Payton all moving on soon? Time for the Heat to think about who to bring in to back up Wade in the next couple of years... there is a possibility that Wade could be a one ring man - sad but a possibility

What a nail-biter!! Wade and Zo were outstanding.

Zo was nuts late in the game, his stops were what helped Miami get up. Still dont go much on Walker & Payton getting rings, those two give me the shits. They said in the commentary that Walker was booed when he first got to Miami as fans said he was a shoot-first, all about scoring player. I still agree, he doesnt look to get the rest of the team involved, and jacks 3s!

Congrats to the big fella, he's got another bit of bling bling. And Wade played like a star the whole series, you have to give him credit!!

Not sure what would have happend if Dirks' last pass wasnt shit, and actually got to Terry instead of a TO. But it was a good series, no doubt about it!

Now the waiting game begins, who will both these teams have on their roster come next season.....

There's also a possibility Wade won't stay with the heat...Think about it - shaq getting older - if those other guys retire....will the team be getting better or worse???
Having said that I think he'll resign

maybe with the Timberwolves!!!!!!!!! WAAHOOO!!

Should be very interesting to see what Pat Riley does in the off season, whether he doesn't touch anything, or whether he goes all out.
Do you think the Mavs will shuffle up at all?

i see what your saying oznballer... the mavs gotta do something, and rid of damp for a guy 1-2 steps up..

15 strong.. gotta say riley has a great system, and he beleived in each and every one of his guys... great philosophy.. always loved riley coached teams (just wish riley would put his hair darker again, the michael douglas comb back and the yellowy type hair doesn't suit him)

but i also gotta say this.. though the games where close, i didn't find it a really good series.. i've found everything from 2002 on has been dull.. this is clearly better than the rest.. followed by the pistons/lakers then pistons/spurs.. but the nets/spurs and nets/lakers bored the crap outta me... and i gotta say i felt like that at times this year.. i guess if shaq/jwill did alot more than nothing the series woulda been a bit better.. i dont know, i just like seeing jwill/shaq get more involved..
