Recently joined a New Zealand Card Group on Facebook and noted that these were very sought after. I knew I had some but thought they were in bad shape from memory.
Managed to dig them out and have all 3 series full sets. About half of series 1 are not great, but all series 2 and 3 are as close to mint as you can get and have been stored in a nice non themed album. Are the prices on E-bay fair dinkum or are people just dreaming and putting up unrealistic prices? Hard to sell items on E-Bay in NZ due to postage. I am happy to sell them if the right offer came along as not a huge wrestling fan apart from Macho Man.
Would it be better to sell the full sets or sell individual cards as there seem to only be a few people really want?
Wanting any information. Thanks.

Hey mate, I know a bit about these sets and why are are so desirable...

They contain a few rookie cards of some wrestlers, as well as the rarity of being a NZ only product, as well as the cool folder they come with. Wrestling cards also had their own kind of mini boom after we saw NBA etc jump in prices. Vintage cards became popular, especially harder to find international sets, Like the Australian Scanlens WWF '86, Theres an Argentinian WCW game with a Steve Austin rookie and Mexican set with Chris Jericho rookies, Rare old Japanese cards with early Andre/Hogans and the iconic Wrestling All Stars set.

I would be interested in the cards if you're keen to sell/trade them at all.

Hi Eggshen

Thank you for the information and being the first to reply. That explains a lot. A full set of Series III just sold on Trade Me for over $400 and I see the other sets go for between $100- 200.
I really do love Macho Man but the card is not a great representation of the stereotypical Macho Man.
But when I viewed the crazy prices these go for, I knew that I had to see if I had them and the rarer cards. I assumed they would be in bad condition or incomplete sets, but nearly all are in mint condition- as perfect as they can be from printing and being in a packet. (See images).
I will start with the finer details.
All series II are great.
Series 1- has 2 defects- Demolition is stained at the base- see image. Appears it was cell-o-taped at some point.
Brutus The Barber Beefcake has been trimmed and laminated I assume. See image- card smaller than one I laid underneath for comparison.
The checklist in the image is almost a through away given the condition it is in. However, just found a mint one tucked in behind some other cards so that nullifies that defect.
Series III and the value set. 3 Minor issues. I have attached photos.
Hulk has a tiny crease that is barely detectable, but worth noting.
Sean Mooney has bubblegum stains- very hard to see in the image I have added, but there are two spots- the one that looks like a scratch in the photo but is actually a stain and one in the border above his right eye, faint brown but does not show up.
Widow Maker has a dent/ bite mark- see photo.
Were there 1, 2, or 3 'promotion' cards? I have 1 mint copy and another that has tiny creases in 2 corners. So not sure if the same one was used for two different series or if I am missing 1 or 2.
The album is not a WWF one, just a nice cozy Card Crazy Album that they live in.
I was considering listing them this week.
Given you have provided information and been helpful, I will offer them to you first for AUD $480- this includes the cost to send to Australia in the small album they are in, all bubble wrapped up. Not sure if that is reasonable or if I am Dreaming but given the prices I have seen- think it is.
If not, then not sure if you are a member of either Trade Me (my name is Everypost so you can look me up as a reference as well) I might list them there OR The New Zealand Card Collector group on Facebook and put my feelers out.
I will await for your reply as will give you the first opportunity. If yes, just remind me of the process as I have not traded on this site for quite some time. I assume I set up a trade agreement on here from memory? If no- as stated- you can follow them through there anyway and all good.
Thanks again and whether we make a deal or not- thanks a heap.
