Hi everyone,

I’m currently struggling to find information on the 1904 Morrow's Confectionery card set, which features WG Grace. I believe this set is mentioned in the book "Cricket Cigarette and Trade Cards" by Derek Deadman, published in 1985. If anyone has access to this book, I would greatly appreciate it if you could share an image or any details regarding this card set.

Thank you so much for your help!

That's the only Morrow's set in Deadman earlier than 1929. I would assume it's exceedingly rare. Is the Grace for sale?.

Alan Harris & Geoff Seymour's 1993 "Cricket Cigarette & Trade Cards - A further listing" adds another 3 cards to the known issue (at that time) which were W.G. Grace, K.S. Ranjitsinhji, & F.S. Jackson, but I have physically seen or been sent scans suggesting the series is 12 cards inc. Clem Hill (per Deadman's note) & the three above, plus Darling, Duff, MacLaren, Noble, Rhodes, Trumble & Trumper + supposedly the 12th is Gilbert Jessop. As stated I've physically seen all 11 first named cards but have never sighted a Jessop in 20+ years of collecting Cricket Cig & Trade cards? Over 10 years ago a collector wrote to the Australian Cartophilic Society Magazine editor in response to my pursuit of the 12th card and indicated he had a 1904 Morrow's Jessop card, but he also unfortunately passed away a few years ago and if he had it then, it has never surfaced physically or been seen since!

Amazing wealth of knowledge as always mate

Thank you very much for your replies and the information you've shared – it’s greatly appreciated!

I recently acquired the card as part of a small collection I purchased to help expand my collection of rare cricket cards. I’m still undecided on whether to sell it, as I’ve been unable to find any recent sales from this set.

Thanks again for your help!
