Best and Worst sets ever made

Might be because it's fresh.....
But I think the strike is the pick of a god awful bunch.
2000-2003 Were good, 2004 was OK... 2005 Mediocre,
2006 on was just plain ordinary
I really think the 2000 Sponsor postcards done by the Tigers was really cool....
I don't know why Clubs don't issue thier own sets, Like the early days???

If they bring out a Gallen Captain signature this year you two will buy 8 cases each.
Select doesnt have much interest in teams that are constantlt at the bottom of the table, They just dont sell, Except to the 2 most committed supporters on this forum,

I have to say the Knights own sets ... 89 Buttercup, 90 Henny Penny and 91 BP are some of my favourite sets ... they just seem a bit more special since they are only available for my club.

I think the 2005 Power set is my fav, I like the 07 set as well, nice design, but the predictors with the gold trimming were aweful as they really showed if they werent perfect cuts.
the centenery set was aweful imo, the sig redemptions will continue to rise in price as its the immortals after all, but 10,000 boxes!! Way over produced! But the major problem was that so many of the inserts were of the exact same player, I understand that they were amazing players and what not, but seriously 5 inserts of the same player in the same series is a bit over the top...

Best/Favourite:
1. 2003 XL. Wasn't crazy about the card designs (prefer simple game shots) but easily the most enjoyable box break I've had. Lockyer jersey card and two future forces. (I only buy one box a series).
2. Scanlans 1991. First league cards I ever laid eyes on and what a season of footy (for a Panthers fan).
3. 2009 Classic. The only series where I've bought the common set and wish I had bought a box (the opposite applies for 06 Invincible).
Worst/Hated:
1. I guess 97 Fatty's set since it looked so bad in promos that I've never seen a card of it in person. But Dynamic's 96 3-part saga of starter/booster and series 2 was pretty bloody horrid. The fronts of the commons are the ugliest I've collected.
2. 2007 Invincible. Would likely have better impressions if I'd busted boxes for inserts, but as far as common sets go, another God-ugly card design.
3. NRL Champions 2010. Ironically I got back into collecting around the release of this series - but when I realised how bad the inserts were, I settled for a base set. And hate the outline on players on card fronts.
