Recruitment of the Tigers is pathetic, cause they want to punt Lui (rumoured Cowboys now) for constant assault on his other half, they now want Moltzen to take over the 1/2 back spot, well Mr Sheen what would have happened if Lui did his knee in the second round, ask for Moltzen back, if he goes hopefully they pay us some compensation that goes towards their salary cap....

Tim Moltzen wants out of his St George Illawarra Contract

Wests Tigers utility Tim Moltzen could remain at the NRL club next season after seeking a release from his deal to join St George Illawarra.

Tigers officials will meet with Moltzen's manager Martin Tauber on Wednesday afternoon to discuss the possibility of him staying.

Tauber admitted he was in the dark about the full extent of the situation having just returned from overseas.

"I only got back from New York yesterday afternoon and to be honest, I have no idea what it is all about," Tauber told AAP.

"I've got a meeting with the Tigers today and that's when I will know exactly what is going on.

"He has definitely signed with the Dragons, but now there is talk of a release so I am now off to find out more."

Moltzen agreed to a three-year contract with the Dragons in July in a move that started a war of words between the joint ventures.

The decision to offload him upset many of the Tigers' playing group, with star five-eighth and Moltzen's housemate Benji Marshall, particularly outraged.

At the time, Tigers chief executive Stephen Humphreys accused the Dragons of being arrogant and disrespectful, claiming they announced the signing without his club's knowledge.

Dragons' chief executive Peter Doust hit back, saying they were bemused at the comments and that they had acted in good faith.

The Tigers had seen Robert Lui as their long-term halfback.

However, the 20-year looks set to be shown the door following an alleged assault on his partner after the club's mad Monday celebrations.

His departure would see the club without a recognised, experienced halfback on their books.

Officials from the Dragons and the Tigers were unavailable for comment.

we must of been reading the same article at the exact same time haha

Marshall was upset initially, which is why all those articles mid-season ranted on about the Tigers being in turmoil internally with players upset.

Smith is very good for a year at most clubs, can come in, clean up the place, p1ss off everyone and attempt to get the club going forward, then by this time everyone has had enough of him and wants him out....
Who wants him next, Souths, Cronulla, Canberra.....

i reckon souths should take him and get them back into top shape and then go to cronulla then..................and so forth. he will be doing the NRL a favour by cleaning clubs up and then moving on.

i wonder if John Hopoate will teach the Eels the correct finger to use when presented with a butt

Tim Moltzen will stay a Tiger because there was no signed release, and therefore nothing official for @NRL_Dragons to rely on #NRL #debacle

Just got this from the twitter account of Josh Massoud (daily tele)

Oh, Moltzen did still have a year left on his Tigers contract.....so the Dragons never bothered to get anything official from the Tigers saying they had agreed to release him. Ouch! Bit of a technicality considering the Tigers openly gave Moltzen permission to speak to other clubs.

Source: Dragon's Website:

St George Illawarra Dragons CEO Peter Doust On Wednesday issued the following regarding the signing of Tim Moltzen:

"Tim Moltzen and his Manager have signed a three-year deal with the Dragons," said Doust.

"We have not had any conversations or received any other information from either Tim or his Manager that would suggest he would not be at the Dragons in 2012."

From the Tigers website

"In relation to the speculation surrounding the playing future of Tim Moltzen, Wests Tigers can provide the following short statement:
Whilst it was announced earlier this year by St George-Illawarra Dragons that Tim had signed a new contract with them to commence in 2012, Wests Tigers has not granted him a release from his existing contract with the Club that expires at the end of next season.
The matter is ongoing and the Club will work with Tim’s Manager and the Dragons to resolve the situation as quickly as possible."

Well said. Also just because he got acquitted does not mean nothing happened with that girl.

So me or you can get stood down from our work place without pay for four weeks for getting pissed at a company function???? Gee, I'm glad I don't work at the same place as you two...

MOVE ONE ALREADY it was ages ago.

if you want to talk about it thought why not ask the question as to why watmough didn't get reprimanded for jobbing the bloke who ran the function.

I'm fine with moving on, champ. But in no way does Stewart owe gallop and apology! As for Watmough being a tool at the same function, and from what I read in plain sight of many witnesses, and actually verifiably hurting someone, I'm 100% behind you! THAT tool SHOULD'VE been reprimanded AND suspended!

Don't get me wrong, matey. I'm a Dogs fan through and through, so I'm not singing from Manly's "Us against the World"'s hymn sheet. I just think in THIS case, Stewart WAS treated shabbily, and for people to try and turn it around after so many jumped the gun on his "guilt", and say the 4 weeks with no pay and loss of income from the ad campain was for "being drunk at a function", is ridiculous! I mean, pan the camera around at the Brownlows or Dally M's: what are you gonna do??? Fine and suspend half the league for being inebriated? Good luck with THAT season!
