Hey there fellas,

I haven't had an Artis Gilmore mailday since the great man entered the Naismith Hall of Fame on August 19. I wanted to make it a good one, and I've been holding off until all the key goodies have arrived......and as they used to say when the great Karl Malone was on fire - the mailman has delivered!! Thanks also to Slob for helping with the payment and the postage on a few of these beauties too

So here is the latest haul from the past few months - sequentially by year, from oldest (1972) to newest (2011)....

1972 Rookie Card (with PSA/DNA auto)

Circa 1980 press release 8x10 photos (loving the 2nd photo!)

1985 Star Court Kings 5x7 (with regular sized Star '85 card from the same year)

1992 Courtside base printing plate 1/1

....and here are the two Courtside versions (base and auto)

This is not a new addition but one of my favourite A-Train cards - and with his recent induction it now means it is officially a quad HOFer auto!!

Couldn't resist grabbing a 2nd one of these:

My first A-Train letterman from 07-08 UD Black /10:

Finally tracked down this patch auto /10:

...which completes the set of 4 (GU /199, GU auto /25, patch /25, patch auto /10)

I bought a Court Kings 5x7 auto about 12 months ago but it never arrived, so had to find another (base /349 and auto /75)

Managed to unearth the /25 version of this 09-10 SP SIGnificance:

....which goes with the base and a couple of Gold /10 versions:

Thanks for looking! :)

Amazing cards, can't pick a favourite as they are all great, although maybe the super-large Star card.

Also learned something, he hit a couple of 3-pointers in the ABA. He also hit one in the NBA, so for a player with a great FG% he had a bit of range too.

You probably know the answer, but so far they have not made a card with him in a Boston uniform? Like Maravich, Bing, B Walton, S O'Neal, I think Gilmore ended his career with Boston.

Man I love seeing your A Train maildays.....always good to see a nice legends PC that you wouldn't usually come across! Nicely done!

Mammoth A-train mailday there champ, great work. Man it would have been a mission hunting down the Courtside auto and especially the printing plate, well done!

Keep an eye on my next mailday - got some old school Artis Gilmore you might need (although somehow I doubt it!). I actually met Artis Gilmore this year and had him sign a shirt for me - mentioned to him that one of his biggest collectors was from Adelaide. Got a pic with the great man and everything.

Btw - awesome collection, definitely one of the better PCs going around!

Some great info there Brett, yes he did end his NBA career with Boston, and no, there is no card out there of Gilmore in a Boston uniform. I'd much rather see him in a Bulls uni than a Spur too, but I'll keep collecting them whatever he's wearing!

Thanks Matt, hopefully someone says the same to you in 20 years about your Nash PC!! LOL

Yeah thanks Raj, I was lucky someone contacted me about the Courtside printing plate, always a big help when the card finds you rather than you having to track it down. It took a while to get the auto but I've seen probably 5 or 6 in the past 6 months.

Wow Skip, you lucky bugger! You met him at the National? Would love to meet the great man, from all reports he is a gentle giant, a very very friendly guy which makes me happy because noone wants to collect an @rsehole do they? :)

Unbelievably awesome stuff there man! :worthy:
Did you track down the HOF patches #1/2 and 2/2 separately or happen upon them as a pair out of interest?

Cheers Matt, I got both on ebay, the first one that popped up I emailed the seller and got him to end it early due to a juicy offer.....the other one was listed about 2-3 weeks later but was US only so Slob & SBF did some nifty work on my behalf, but I had to ride out the full 7 days auction which was a worry! When I saw the checklist when they were released I wasn't sure i'd find one, but to land both was just a huge result!

Holy Sh*t Brad! You don't do anything by halves do you?

Great mail-day mate.....sorry I took so long to see it :)

thats phenomenal brad... mustve missed the mainlday 4 weeks ago but glad i saw it now

killer lot... well done on the 1/2 & 2/2 but my fav design has got to be the national treasures aba legends cards. love love love em

Thanks for the thread revival from a month ago fellas, got another A-Train mailday in the works, just waiting on the postie to do his bit and I'll have more to show in a week or two!!
