Okay, so this is genuinely not directed at anyone in particular, because it's a bit of a trend I noticed when I was last active trading and once again now that I am more active again. It's just got my goat and feel the need to vent.

Where is the respect? Where is the trust in this forum and NOT treating it like ebay? If someone buys a card from you, why are you waiting til they leave you feedback to give feedback, or worse just not bothering, while you DO have time to browse the forums (its one thing if life is in the way and you're not online... we can all understand that, but if you have time to comment on discussion threads or work on sale or trade threads, but not leave feedback, even after you receive your positive feedback, what gives)? This isn't ebay, a retaliation neg really isn't going to get very far when someone has clearly met their end by purchasing the product promptly, so why wait?

I do follow it up with members, I try and be polite about it, but sometimes I can get frustrated because my personal view is it is flat out rude if you have had ample opportunity, and trust me I do not send a PM following up on feedback until I have either left feedback (Often first when I have bought, I should never be leaving feedback first on a purchase) or some time has passed and the person involved has been viewing other threads actively). Also, Why get angry when someone politely ask why feedback hasn't been left? I think I have forgotten twice in the 200+ deals I have done, I got a reminder and I was like oh terribly sorry let me fix that up right now.... generally that was with trades (not sales) though. I ALWAYS leave feedback first when someone buys from me, pretty much as soon as payment is received.

That said there are some fantastic members out there who treat feedback in the respectful way one would expect on a good forum like this.

What does everyone else think about feedback etiquette on the forum now days?

And before anybody asks, why does feedback matter when you have 200+? As a trader who trades/buys in spurts and can go MONTHS without deals, it is important to build up that positive feedback each active period... because you just never know with anyone these days, so I DO value my positive feedback each time I return to making deals. I want people to recognise that yes I have been active and I have been good with my dealings.

I once again wish to REITERATE... This is not directed at any one person and I won't be naming anyone nor wanting anyone to name themselves with regards to specific deals with me. I am happy to hear all sorts of views on feedback though. This is just my current beef.

Haha yeh I guess Im one of those guys who are really bad with completing the deal after cards/cash has been exchanged

But your rant has made me go and fix up most of my recent deals lol

haha and look sometimes people just don't realise the respect in it, I understand how some people just care that both parties get their stuff and don't think much more of it... so good on you for deciding it was something that did matter to you :D

Just made me go back and complete like 14 feedback because I've slacked off since uni started again. But then again I was also usually the one who asked other people to return my feedback. It's not a hard task, but sometimes people just don't think it's all that important. But some people, like you, do care and it's nice to get a wake-up call sometimes

I've just received feedback from both Kenny and Bainy!!!

Thanks AJ

But I probably still owe them as well and I have not only been browsing the forums, but also helping create a whole new comp, lol

In my defense, most of the time I'm on here I am on my phone, and feedback is too hard from my phone, so I usually let them pile up and do them all together when at the pc

But good on you for pointing it out. Either that or you just did some looooonnnggg trolling!

I only ever come on here from my phone as we have no net at my house and have found it pretty easy to leave feedback simply using copy and paste, have also wondered about whether people should leave feedback before I do and I'm also pretty sure quite a few deals I have done no feedback has been left from the other person, ( I could also have forgotten some, but fairly sure I haven't) I probably wouldn't mind so much if my feedback was a decent number but with it still being so low I need all I can get!

Cheers
Alex!

Have noticed a few feedbacks not coming through, tis a little annoying, but people can forget or slip their mind easy I guess. Have noticed on the Feedback page that it shows an icon for if feedback is still to be left. My previous 5 deals are still saying I haven't left feedback, but I know I have.. Maybe something has gone awry with that function and is causing some of these issues? Definitely going to double check I have left feedback for them now though. Cheers AJ :)

I sometimes forget to leave feedback if I have like 20 deals on the go but usually check on them or check when someone leaves some for me. Some people on here are really bad and just don't give a crap though, I've had maybe 20 deals where I haven't received feedback even after following up with a request in the thread and a few PM's. If I deal with that member again I won't leave any until I get some first. Just they way it is.

Can be a little frustrating.

I looked at my feedback left and it says 90 and my feedback received is 86 so obviously i've been short changed a few.

I'm guilty of not leaving feedback until I know the other person has gotten their stuff, but not because I want to see what feedback they have left first; because once I know they have got the item I can do everything at once like complete the deal thread, leave feedback etc..... it just makes it easier to make sure you have completed everything you need to. :)

I believe you still owe me feedback mate..... ;)

From my experience that "feature" cannot be relied on unfortunately. :(

I bet that there are about 30% of my deals that I have completed on here still need feedback to be left for me. I have what, like 80 or 90 feedbacks but I should have well over 100. Not to brag and throw my shoes out there but I have NEVER NOT left feedback for anyone. Feedback is kind of like a good token of appreciation and a bit of referenced noteability that people can read and grow trust. Definately a reputation builder too! I think it is very important to show respect by leaving feedback especially if there was a GREAT deal or a HORRIBLE deal. People need to know these things. ALL feedback counts!!

Thanks for the rant AJ!

Just a thought. Other than just being lazy or busy, could someone not leaving feedback be used as a sign of not being 100% satisfactory with the deal? So instead of leaving a neutral or negative feedback and cause a big kaffafle... they decided to go silent instead. Well just a thought, that is what I do with my Ebay transactions, I never negative anybody if I am not happy with the transaction, I'll just go silent on them and not leave anything instead.

I agree with aj, but also agree anakinleo. Unfortunately, there's no real grading for feedback here - maybe that's something that is being worked on or could be looked at? As for me, I always leave feedback - always have and always will. I believe -as aj does - that it's a matter of respect and respect starts with yourself.

I always leave FB ASAP. Sometimes I forget but usually go through my FB once a fortnight to check which deals I haven't left FB on. However regardless of whether I'm the buyer or seller I always wait until both parties have received their cards/money and are 100% happy. I believe how you handle any problems after cards have been exchanged also comes into FB. So if for example if I sold someone some cards and they arrived but the buyer was unhappy with them for whatever reason and then was a real ***** about it I think that should be reflected in their feedback.

That's fair enough, but I personally think that only really is an issue for buyers and traders, not sellers... my biggest frustration is with sellers. I also believe if there is an issue give a person a chance to rectify it, becuase some times stuff happens. But I can definitely see your point.

I can see your point as well heafy, I think I'd look at the feedback someone has (generally you know when someone is easy to deal with, or if they are going to be angry... I guess for me, as a Seller if they pay up, then they get the feedback. Sometimes people are just difficult. I am genuinely one of the nicest people here when it comes to my communications, admittedly I can sometimes get a lil frustrated but I do genuinely try to always make my communications polite. If we all did that it would make the feedback process and trading processes a lot friendlier.

Have now checked with someone I dealt with, we both left feedback but it says that I haven't in my recents. Brett's on the money, as always, ta mate

There are no hard and fast rules on when you should leave feedback here so IMO, as long as people take the time to leave feedback for each other then it's all good!

I don't belive a seller should automaticly leave feedback as soon as payment has been made, what if the buyer is impatient and nags "where is my card" consistently, what if the buyer doesn't even bother to tell the seller the card has been received? There are many reasons to hold off on leaving feedback until the whole transaction is completed so IMO it's up to the individual. If they prefer to leave it straight away then good, if they decide to leave it upon completion of the transaction then also good!

Just because you have paid doesn't automaticly mean you get a positive feedback!

All well and good but I think I'm sure you'd agree with me in that nobody should have to chase up feedback, especially on a purchase :)
