Go PSA not BGS.....too many stories of BGS damaging cards for my liking.

yeah but i heard PSA arent quite as precise as BGS. they dish out alot more 9 & 10s, which is good i guess...?

Is that still true these days? I know it was when they started - back then 10's were as rare as hens teeth, but nowadays you see a few 10's here and there.

i honestly couldnt say. was just something id read someplace. could be total rubbish...
personally tho, for whatever reason (probably advertising), id prefer to get mine done by beckett.

I've heard the total opposite, that it is becketts who grade easier. I got a really really good looking card graded by PSA, came back as an 8 which although I am new at this, was still a big surprise. And i think that maybe Becketts are seen as better because they do their 4 categories plus the autograph, and because they seem more 'specific' people are attracted to them. They are better coloured but i have to say, seeing a silver or white plated becketts label doesn't do it for me, unless you see a nice the gold which instantly signifies the higher grade. And isn't it true that graders like bccg are sub-groups of becketts and give easier grades at cheaper rates? Diminshes from the whole idea of grading if you ask me.

I dunno, each to their own, PSA for me and no I don't have shares in the company or will be re-imbursed for my support of them.
Oh yes, and there have been 2 pretty significant issues with card damage of recent times By Becketts.
BCCG (Beckett Collectors Club Grading) is there basically if you want your card slabbed in my opinion. They don't try to hide the fact that the grading isn’t as thorough as the premium Beckett product .

I just got some back from Beckett (all came back 9.5) and had some submitted to PSA just recently. I'm pretty curious to see what the difference is when i get the PSA ones back because both sets of cards were in very similar condition
I did a big group submission to Beckett for a few members on the forum mid last year when I was not working. and was able to get the 10 day grading service for the cost of the 20 day service. The longer you wait usually means a cheaper cost. Check the grading section of the Beckett website as there is usually mention of specials.
If you are a member of Beckett you can lodge the grading request on line. It is very easy, oh and I have never had any problems with them although other people have.
Another thing you need to be wary of is that when you send the cards over you will want to insure them against loss. If the declared value is greater than $2000 AUD you will need to get an Export Declaration number before Australia Post will allow you to send.
Also you will need to register with Customs as an Exporter /Importer, but only if the declared value is over $1000aud
