SPOILER: Manly v Melb

The bit I love about it the most .......Brett Stewart did a cruciate ligament with his dog act jumping at Blair ........hopefully that will see him done for the year.......

The other funny thing I heard was that David Gallop was supposedly there at this game as a bit of a truce making exercise with Manly and Brett Stewart after what happened off the field.

To me it would be the equivalent of David Stern sitting sideline at the malice in the palice.

I can see it now. A couple guys will get suspended and Manly will start :cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry: about how they are victimized by the NRL again.

Yeah a bit of biff might be part of the game but considering the audience the Friday night game gets I think they will makes some examples of people.

who cares both Manly and Melbourne are complete scum

haha agree

i watched the footage a few more times in slow mo lokes like manly might lose 4-5 players glenn stewart brett stewart and watmough and foran 2nd and 3rd in and bussiak throw about 5 or 6 punches when blair on ground bye bye manly you thugs

Should given the Manly germs a bit of a Whacka...

ARGH - that's terrible!!!

Serious? He buggered his knee? Pls confirm. I want to ring a Manly loving friend of the family and unload with both barrels ... that would ice the cake!

A few of the liberal do gooders, women with kids, or those blokes that are just happy will winge and ***** about the violence in the game and try to have the biffo banned from the game, if that ever happens then I will have watched my last game of league. For crying out loud they are not members of the Redfern knitting association.........any of the sports like League are combative sports (except for the NFL, those ladies are too precious to play without their padding and motor cycle helmets) and members of the public who go to a game where passions run high have to accept that blood will flow and punches may fly.

All I can say is that if Mrs Doubtfire and her 3 little munchkins don't like what is being served up then they should stay out of the kitchen.

I don't get to see many NRL games but was watching this and absolutely loved it! That said, it did seem a little staged, not sure if anybody else felt like that..?

I love seeing a biff as much as anyone but i dont want my son watching it and thinking its okay to go and and biff another kid when he plays footy.

We didnt get the game televised till 1130 down here in Melbourne, I was debating whether to stay up and watch it given I'd been watching the score updates all night, but my sister was in Qld for the weekend and was watching it live so urged me it was worth staying up for.

Hmm, it was certainly exciting, but I'm fearful of the repercussions at the judiciary. If Brett Stewart got injured in that act then its great poetic justice!
And yes found this in the match review: "With NRL chief executive David Gallop watching from the stands - the first time he has seen either side in 2011 following controversial incidents involving both clubs in recent years"

If only we had Danny Williams out there, now theres a guy that new how to land a punch!

You arent the only one who felt this way. It felt like Stewart and Blair calmly said, you ready to go at it again waited a second....then they started throwing them.

BTW, if Origin had this passion again, it would be worth watching. The MG/Wally game was an epic game in the history of origin. The players all love each others to much these days to even pretend to throw a decent punch.

Haha - bring back the cattledog

I thought it was strange as well, it looked stage or had that feeling but i think it was more Stewart sh11t1ng himself and looking back waiting for the troops to help him...

1 on 1 donny brook fine. Throw a couple, get on with it.

But that rubbish on the sideline of 5 on 1...well if you like gutless stuff like that, says more about you than me.

A good old stoush :) Many and Melbourne both play a grubby intimidating style so let them punch the crap out of each other for the entertainment of the fans .. Would have loved to have seen gallops face

Regardless of your view on the fight it has the potential to de-rail both their seasons

Going into the game almost guaranteed it would be Melbourne 1st, Manly 2nd - both those being the teams to beat.

Now it's much more open - easily 5 teams are capable of taking out this competition!
