I enjoyed reading this whole post and am surprised that I hadn't seen it earlier......
Living up here is very restricting on autographs....... So I appreciate everyone on here who has helped with my efforts to complete signed sets.... Although.. Sometimes I find that people aren't always willing to help each other out.. Although they almost EXPECT it when it is reversed.. It's very simple really.. If you give me a little.. I'll give you a little........
I am a big signature buyer.. Truth is.. I work away 9 days out of 14.. So the chances of me making a home game are minimal at the best of times........ And then.. When I am home.. I don't have time (or maybe just the patience) to stand there and WAIT for the players to come out to sign.. And I am happy to pay someone else to get the cards signed for me.. The time I have at home is for me.. My kid brother Jojo.. My dog Celie and these days....... Ozcardtrader.. I don't see this is being disrespectful at all.. If someone was to charge me $20 for a card that I know is worth $1.. Then maybe.. But I would happily pay anyone $35-40 for a full team set of a team that I know I will never get autographs from myself.. With the amounts of money I KNOW I get ripped off from on eBay at times.. I wish I could just find someone who was reasonable enough to get the sigs I need and pay them a small amount of money..

You are a dedicated collector and it does sound like there is no other way for you to maintain the hobby other than buying. Its unfortunate and expensive at times. I know if I was in the same situation I wouldn't be able to afford what I have built over the past 3 years. I have purchased quite a few cards and will have to in the future so lets hope the right cards come up at the right time. Fortunatly for me I have hit 6 x 1:36 Strike cards in 27 packs (3 seperate boxes) so that I can make some money to buy what I need from 2009 and 2010.
I don't think that is disrepectful to the players if you are only making money enough to maintain your own collection. Like the NRL loving members of this forum. Its basically a non profit hobby. But there are some people out there that are making it harder and harder for us autograph collectors to get the signatures we want. People like the forementioned Ebay sellers exploit their kids to make tax free money via Ebay hobby loopholes. I find that disrespectful to the players and the REAL autograph collectors.

I was there on Monday night as well, got Gasnier's scribble as well, Gasnier has the right to sign a scribble or a proper signature, it's just annoying for the collector...
i go ffor the mighty tigers and get the players at campbelltown signing the footy card sets. Most of the boys are great, lote is the worst though dont think he likes signing - thats cool but these guys gasnier included- should remember that if it wasnt for fans going to games, on ffoxtel, buying newspapers, jerseys, cards they wouldbnt be on $200000+ heaps of them would be bums or in jail . So what if a someone wants a player to sign 3 or 4 cards ?
i get paid $40000 a year, ... and ive sold $50 worth of signed cards, and ive spent +$500 on leage in the past year (i cant afford to buy a box of strike cards)

one of them cornered Trex last night and talked him into signing a stack of strike cards. He complained that he signed them at Penrith that there was about 30 and gave half back. SigPig said no mate these are new cards, theyve got thick cardboard, theres opnly really about 10. G Stewart said straight away "mate I already signed a pile for you at Penrith. Cherry Evans ran the other way. Lucky he seen them before trhey seen him.
A bit off topic regarding football codes, but on the Channel 10's AFL show Before the Bounce, they were just having a laugh at footage of Jobe Watson from Essendon having to sign a handful of the same card for a 4-5 year old kid. He didn't look happy about having to do it, but hard to knock back a young bloke that age. In the mean time there was another young kid next to him patiently waiting. Really annoying when you see it happen in real life. And at the moment there is a handful of signed Jobe Watson cards (Champions and Teamcoach) for sale from the same seller (maybe unrelated. doesn't really matter IMO). Pretty sure its not the young bloke getting the autographs that is the 'sig pig'. He probably didn't even get to keep one for himself
Im a pissed off collector today. We have a new sig pig on the Coast. He was kicked out of the NRL All-stars hotel, and politely asked to leaved the Indigenous All-stars hotel, made Darren Lockyer walk away from signing for the fans and then called him arrogant and said that he didn't give a F*#k that he walked away because he got a few sigs done. I suspect he has now ruined a good thing that I have been doing since 2009. Its only round 2 and he has cause security to tighten and kick fans and autograph collectors (not that there is many of us) out of the hotel that the players stay at. I have never once raised suspiscions or been spoken to by staff at the hotel in 3-4 years. Wait till I catch up with this twat. I will do my best to ruin every attemp he makes to get autographs in my presance.
The guy is totally oblvious to any sort of respect to the players and also the other fans. The day he pissed Lockyer off, he turned around and said "What an arrogant AH.. Ohh well, I don't give a shit I got my autographs" There was about half a dozen people including me ready to smash him.
I will keep getting my sets done but if the guy turns up with his wife, I will be pointing them out to the players and not holding back from exposing them working together.

Mick Ennis's evil Twin is ruining for the collectors down here... At the Tigers/Roosters trial i watched as Steve Georgallis signed about 30 Strike Panthers Logos for him...

I been keeping an eye out on the Bay, To see if any come up... So I can track which Seller he is (If he is selling) I thought maybe he hocks them to Coastsports??

did the same to Nathan Cayless the other night. Cayless said despairingly "mate how many do you need" but signed them anyway. He told not asked Nathan to stand under cover so they didnt get wet. You should have seen the clean heels King Wally showed to get away from him. THe old boy still has got it
