It's a ****ing sad reflection on the Australian music industry that there are bands being left unsigned in their droves and they continue to sign crap like this, thinking that they will sell because of a shows popularity.

Guy Sebastian(and I consider him to be talented, probably why!) is the only one who's broken my idol rule as well:
1 Album will sell well on the back of the shows popularity
2nd album will sell a few, the diehard fans
3rd album will show that you will die a long slow painful death

Don't get me wrong there are some talented singers on the shows (They probably gargle better than I sing), but the reality is they are signing these sorts up in their droves and having worked in this industry before unless they are really talented most of them will not last past 1 album.

The most dissapointing thing about shows like idol/Popstars or other "manufactured" singers is that for everyone of them that releases an album (most of the time not written by them) there are hundreds of extremely talented singers/bands/performers out there who play to empty pubs and clubs performing their own original (and often brilliant) music.

Get out there and support the local Australian music scene!!!!

If you didn't know her from TV you wouldn't even look twice at her in the street.

Idol is one of the poorest examples of Aussie TV and couldn't hold a candle to Supernova.

yeah I remember when she first came on, she was the only reason I watched neighbours, especially one scene when she was in skimpy sexy number..but after that...its been all down hill.
