So, firstly, I already hate ebay a bit. They make it so hard for some people and so easy for others to scam. They also have high fees and little seller protection.

Anyways, I was *considering* listing a couple of Tag Teams up on ebay. I went through the whole 'create listing' phase and got to the shipping options. This is where I would usually enter a lower fee for Australian buyers because it costs less for me to ship there than anywhere else in the world.

Unfortunately, it seems that they have changed their shipping... which I knew they were doing... but didn't know it would be so utterly useless to non-US sellers...

Your options:
- same rate for all countries

OR

- Choose custom location (no option other than Canada) - which it only lets you select USPS and UPS shipping options which don't have prices because they'll be automatically calculated? But when your account is registered to New Zealand and you don't use USPS or UPS what the hell is the use of that??

Easy solution would be to just use the same rate for worldwide shipping but seriously, how hard and annoying (and stupid) do they want to make it??

Man I hate ebay.

I think one of the worst things they have done is not allow the seller to leave negative feedback... this basically took away the entire point of the feedback system... can anyone correct me if i am wrong? is this only happening to Australian eBay?

I feel that they are running a scam with australia post. By removing power from the seller, they are giving the buyer the opportunity to scam and because of that, the seller will have to charge more on postage or use the latest eBay post bag that Australia Post has developed with eBay. As far as I have read about this new postal method on the Australia Post website, it is just a hassle to have to specify the dimension/weight etc online then have to print your own label, then you still have to bring it down to the post office to get all the measurements verified. I don't understand whose time is actually being saved. It sounds like more work was done.

I can't remember but last time I tried posting a sale item on eBay two options.

1. For bunnies simple BS (very restrictive).
2. A advanced option (VERY hard to find) with more flexibilty.

This was about a year ago. So I can image it only getting worst.

I use Turbo Lister for all of my ebay sales. It allows me to set up templates to list on either US or Aussie ebay and then to do multiple listings at the one time.

I have not sold any cards on ebay for about one month yet it appears that the current templates would work fine. I can chose the calculate fees option before uploading and the only message I got was one about telling sellers the estimated delivery time. I have been getting this for the last 6 months and it never stopped the upload taking place.

I am like Heath in that I also list the shipping costs in the desrciption and use the same price world wide.

Yeah.... AFAIK Hairy they have had it like that for awhile. I also found it very confusing on listing shipping options. So yeah, usually just included the price in the description.

I'm not a big seller so maybe I'm a bit biased but IMO it's one of the BEST things they have done. Dunno about you but I was sick of getting/fearing retaliatory negs and also others fearing the same thing and hence not leaving sellers with feedback they deserved because of fear they would get a neg back. So yes, sellers (obviously not all sellers) bought the current system on themselves.

Only other thing ebay could have done was to "investigate" all matters of retaliatory negs, rather than stop them being left altogether by sellers; however of course ebay isn't gonna do that as it's much less work for them just to remove the ability altogether. ;)

Turbolister is the way mate.

The thing is, I rarely sell on ebay and certainly won't be doing it often - I just found it ridiculous how hard (and ZERO choice) they'd made what was a simple thing. In fact it had copied over my shipping options but then I clicked off free shipping (that my last auction was set for) and it lost it all :(

I understand some seller leave retaliatory negative feedback but it is pretty obvious when that happens. eBay should deal with it on a case to case basis rather than shutting down the entire negative feedback from sellers which means many idiot buyers out there who deserve the NEG will get away with doing whatever they want, like leaving a negative feedback just for fun!

Don't use the shipping part. Just put all your postage details in your description.

I understand what you're saying..... but as I said that is too much work for ebay so I doubt that will happen any time soon. The way it USED to be when sellers could leave negs, eBay would only EVER remove feedback if it contained stuff like defamatory remarks, vulgar words, racism etc..... they wouldn't even look at it if you complained of it being a retaliatory comment.
