Feedback for Select Australia - Please Read.

Now I can't find it, maybe its the medication Im on, but I thought I got a PM that redirected me to a post by you stating the guidlines of this thread warning people not personally attack people.

I may be wrong??? I may have pushed the mouse on the wrong thing and not noticed.

Nah mate I didn't send any PM's about this thread. So far all of this feedback has been constructing and there haven't been any personal attacks which makes me very happy!

I'm hoping Di joins up like she said this coming week and will share some of her answers!

Cheers
Matt

Its simple really, think outside the box, throw in some variety. You only need to look back through the last few pages of this thread to see some ideas. How long can you keep putting out club player of the year, team of the year and award winners. The idea was stale 5 years ago, yet they are still a mainstay.

Game used cards have been the mainstay of the US market for a long time and we still cant get any over here. To simply put it in the too hard basket or say thats it not cost effective is totally unacceptable. Find a way to make a few more of these cards. Its been 8 years since we have seen them.

I really hope select start to take on some different ideas. Nothing personal but Select lost me as a customer a few years ago due to the lack of creativity and imigination. No one wants to collect the same thing every year.

yeah well said, i do the whole IP auto thing now as its much more fun then the insert sets.

Well said Bradley.

While thinking outside they box have Select ever thought of doing something with the men of league or the former origin greats? These guys are always happy to do autos to get donations. Imagine the names you would have access to.

I would love to see a 300 games autograph set. 16 players have now passed the mark, so it would be a nice set. Say a ratio of 1:6 boxes.
I think a case should be 16 boxes as there is 16 TP's and 16 predictors.

I would like to see some sort of card set that can be redeemed by sending in X amount of packets to Select.

Also say 5 master redemption cards that redeem all TP's all case hits and all being the same number #'s 2-6?

Some of these older guys will sign autos for days, especially when donations to the men of league are involved. Im sure it wouldnt have to be a business breaking donation either. Great idea, Thats just one thing of many they could look at.

A couple of ideas from previous AFL releases that would be nice.

Platinum Top Prospects (sigs not the die cuts) #/100
Dally M Predictors (3 per team) #/100
Case Card Sigs #/50

What about something as simple as a past premiers subset like they have for AFL?

I'd love to see there, there's never been any premiership winning cards for the Knights two victories in 1997 and 2001.

Just thought of another thing, I just got the Knights cards from the Strike set today, and I'd avoided looking at them on the net or anything until they arrived. I was impressed by the quality of the cards I have to say, but it's disappointing that the Knights are wearing their away jerseys in all their cards. They don't really have the Knights main colours, or make me think of Newcastle. It was the same with the 2004 set.

I don't mind the odd away jersey in a card, but I like them much more when they are mainly in their home jerseys, rather than the generic white away strips that most clubs have.

id be more pissed with the patterson. waterhouse has been at penrith for 9 years and couldnt even manage a base card

I was disappointed Waterhouse didnt have a card - not because he is leaving next year, but because he has played for penrith for 9 years and deserves one based on that

Can't really expect Select to predict which players are going to leave mid-season though.

Overall Strike is a nice set, but the Knights fans have copped the rough end of the stick, two cards of players who have already left, another three of players who are leaving, all cards in ugly away jerseys, and our Top Prospect hasn't played a single game for the club, and doesn't look likely to. Some of those things are definitely out of Select's control.
