Offical GRAND FINAL THREAD!! Sydney v W.Coast!!

Either way i am happy, as a Geelong supporter, but seeing the Swans win again would be good, especially if its a close game like last year, which their first final would indicate... Im most interested, sadly i might add, in the NRL GF, Storm vs Broncos, MY team versus the missus's and her family's team... they will be fireworks!

The difference in this years GF:

1. Lynch & Hansen up forward.

2. A fit Michael Braun & Daniel Kerr.

3. The bitter feeling of losing a GF last year.

= Eagles 2006 Premiers

Wow, no love from the Eastern States for the West Australians. Whats new!

Yep, nothing new for me, ive deeply hated the WCE since they beat Geelong in the 92 GF when i was 7yrs old. It only deeply scarred me when they lost again 2yrs later... and when my dad bought the dvd of both of them as joke last year. I am actually a big fan of the players that make up the WCE playing list, i could just never admit, to myself even, that i am backing the eagles in the GF... So yeah, nothing new with the no love from the eastern states for the west aussies

so what was the excuse in the first qualifying final?

- it was at subi
- pretty much full strength side
- michael braun
- lynch and hansen up forward
- an underdone nick davis/o'laughlin

;)

should be a good game regardless of who wins...

Yeah its going to another one of those games where time is going to run out for either team. Should be an awesome day, it's my girlfriends birthday so we're going wakeboarding in the morning then having a BBQ in front of her folks new LCD flat screen, followed by either celebratory drinks or drowning in ones sorrows drinks! Either way I'm gonna get drunk! :D

the only concern for the eagles i have is that this weeks game would have taken a lot out of them. Playing poorly in the first half and having to dig themselves out of a deep hole for the win (I know it's not the first time this season)

The swans on the other hand had a more comfortable game, winning by 35 points and leading by 3 goals at 3 quarter time.

AFl website doesn't give you the stats for minutes but i'd be interested to sydney top 5 vs eagles top 5 and see whether the swans were able to rest them a bit more in their game

Isn't that a given on grand final day? I thought the only question was -
Which will be the last quarter I see

True, but then you have players like Embley, Jones (he sucks by the way), Stenglein and Butler who didn't work themselves into the ground and are able to jump into the midfield if need be. Plus Cousins, Judd & Kerr are always going to run themselves into the ground regardless, these 3 don't know the meaning of the word quit. Also Fletcher hasn't had much of an effect, and thats because he is playing on the wing making room for the in form players so he can alwasy step into that centre square.

i think West Coast would have to be favourites. Their fowards have been firing in the final series. I want to see Sydney go back to back though!!
