Mal Meninga was lucky to get in the TOC so i doubt he is immortal, Johns has to be next. I am only 30 so i really dont have an opinion on older players like Provan, Messenger etc. Immortal status shouldnt be just given away though.

The Immortals are only post-WW2 players, so that counts Messenger out.

I think Johns should be next, he is head and shoulders above Lockyer on the field (think of who had more influence in the games they played) and his drugs problem has turned into a positive with him raising awareness and money for bi-polar.

As for Slater ... well he gifted us a World Cup, and his dropped bomb a few minutes from the end of last year's Four Nations final was a big momentum boost to the Kiwis as well. I just hope you guys keep selecting him for Australia!

Johns is wayyyy better than Lockyer. Johns made everyone around him better but Lockyer has been surrounded by big name players his whole career. Johns really is a once in a generation player.
Fittler vs Lockyer is the better arguement but Queenslanders dont see it that way.

Johns is the best player I can remember seeing but I think his drug episode probably will exclude him from ever being an immortal, rightly or wrongly.

Fittler for me over Lockyer.

TAB did a mock market for the next Immortal. They had Johns at like $1.20. It happens with the AFL hall of fame, bad behaviour slows down the process but they end up getting there if they deserve it.
Maybe Johns can get it in for his commentating:lol:, Fittler certainly cant. You would think it was Freddy on drugs.
