Is your Postie this bad?

when it rains we have a postie who comes in a mitsubishi lancer, well hes hit our driveway lights today and just drove off. i watched him do it and then he had the hide to deny it on the phone this afternoon. hes under inquiry now.

Sounds like a postie we had here, He forced a magazine so hard into our mail box that it destroyed the front of the mail box, because i'm always home during the day i saw it happen and grabbed my digital camera and photographed him riding off from the remains of the mailbox. I then rang the Aust post head office and complained and emailed them the photos (which had date & time attached). He tried to deny it, even saying he was sick that day. What a tosser! The photographic evidence was solid. A few days later the posties boss from our mailing centre phoned me to discuss the issue and i told him that if they didn't pay for the replacement of the mailbox i would take my evidence to my solicitor and get him to handle the problem. He then agreed straight away to pay for a new box and the postie was sacked! Never to be seen again.

what i cant get over is the fact your WIFE was watching the nhl! where do i get one of those???

Mate she is one special broad!

She has been to ALL the sports with me......she loves AFL games, NRL games, NBA games, NHL games and she has even gone on a Ashes Tour to England with me :D

thats unacceptable. why wouldnt they go out and check for your parcels? it does sound like someone might be taxing your stuff tho.
LA noir is sh!t, so dont worry to much... ;)
dont mean to rub it in, but my postie is excellent. leaves my packages where i asked him to (inside my shed), anymore than 5 bubble-wrap envelopes and he'll knock, and he comes around the exact same time every day. 12:45. like clock-work.

thats insane. i want one of them..

me, like everyone else, has some stoopid homo that just seems to think that even though he has my parcel at my door, they think its fine for me to drive 10km into town to pick the bastard up..

this topic really grinds my gears.. (family guy, **** that ****s good)

It's lucky you got your stuff but the laziness of some people in society these days is rubbish... I'm in a wheelchair and I'd say 3/10 people are kind enough to help me in the supermarket, open doors, press the button in the lift, move if they are in my way or give up their seat if they're in the wheelchair bays on buses and trains.

The arrogance and laziness of some people piss me off so much.

I hope you get a formal apology because you deserve one and the postie deserves the sack.

Re: You think your Postie is bad...read this!

Must be one of the girls on the jim beam (the dilemma) ad =P

My postie evidently likes taking expensive basketball cards (and I imagine there people who shell out a lot more on cards than I do) for trips around Melbourne's northern suburbs; I'd say he intends to deliver them but I seem to get a dozen "come to the nearest post office" cards a week.

It really annoys me; not just because its just blatant laziness, but why take them out on the bike if you have no intention of delivering them? I'd almost prefer they leave them at the post office, drop off a card and I can then pick the cards up at my leisure.

See here is the thing! They DON'T actually take them with them!

I discovered this when I waited by the letter box and STILL got carded......I told the postie I don't want the card I want my package (small padded envelope) and he told me he didn't have it - WTF?

Turns out they just drop them off (in bulk) to the post office and cad you the next day! So the day you actually get the card is a day AFTER your parcel was supposed to be delivered (check the date on the card).

This of course doesn't happen with all posties but it does with mine!

I'm within about 5 mins drive of 4 PO's. Only regularly use one because the other 2 are average and one is terrible. They said to me one time I went in there that head office were cracking down on international mail going as letters when they should be going as parcels (meaning revenue missed out on) so they charged me $11+ for a bubble mailer with a card in it going to the USA (and I was sending 3 at the time). Last time I went to them as one of the others still let me send as usual. Which is they way it should be because it still fits through their little width tester and doesn't weigh much more than a heavy letter so why the difference between $2.20 and $11.20 - just money hungry POS.

Hmmmm dodgy stories all round...
I've worked in the Perth Mail Center during summer uni-break, and the width tester is used sparingly. Generally, if the package looks roughly small enough, we just chuck it in with the envelopes. So, I guess if you aren't sending registered, you're better off dropping it into a Post-Box than lodging it at an outlet, it'll get through for the 'required' postage every time.. They are money hungry, but they also make a friggen fortune!

My postie is awesome, on time all the time, friendly dude, and never ever a problem. I have received one 'come and collect' card, and that was because nobody was home. Reading this thread makes me want to write a letter of commendation to AusPost about my postie being great, feedback should work both ways imo :)

Great point there mate! Previous Posties I have had (In particular Perth ones) have been great!

my postie is great also.. pretty much on a first name basis..!! haha.. when its registered.. he knows its either expensive or important.. so he comes back a few hours later when someone is home.. so the package is safe.. dont really get slips.. unless he has a busy day! but most of the time he comes at a later time.. never had a problem.. EVER!

I've got to know my Parcel Post contractor pretty well.....he's into buying and selling stuff on Ebay too....so he knows the importance of prompt, accurate and efficient deliveries and takes great pride in his job. Makes a big difference when you've got packages with $100's or even $1000's of dollars worth of stuff coming in!!
