It's true though about they can't get fouled hard, plus look at that phantom push in the back call Wade got yesterday. he knows how to play the rules and get the calls! I think we had this discussion in another thread
But it's a cop-out to say "oh we can't, because we'll get either ejected or suspended."
If that's true, how many suspensions and ejections have been the result of a foul on LeBron or Wade this post-season??
Absolute bull. Stevenson is a ***** for looking for excuses too, especially when the Mavericks overall have shot more free throws than the Heat (80 vs. 65). How about, tell your Mavs boys to man up and actually put a body in front of LeBron when he goes to the rim instead of just swiping at the ball thinking that's gonna do something. There'll be another poster with that Mahinmi guy on it next game.
what gets me is the inconsistencies across the board. Just as an example...... and I'm not picking on Miami, but after the flop Wade did yesterday and he got the no call he went absolutely nuts at the ref. He got no tech nothing for it, yet Noah says a couple of words and doesn't even swear and gets a tech in the series before. Just frustrates me to no end.

Perhaps to do with different refs? Interpreting the rules differently? It's not like it's the exact same refs every game.. I don't know though.
It seems from my observation that refs call techs for "emotions" and "outbursts" more in the half-court than in transition. Cause I know what you mean, a few times Wade has missed a layup, thought there's been contact, no call and while he's running back up the floor he's yelling and quite angry.
They never seem to call that. They only seem to call it when it's in the half-court and all the players are around there. Such as when Taj Gibson got that call in Game 5 for his yelling and facial expressions

Players do need to man up a bit and stop being sooks! Get amongst it and play hard and stop whinging and whining on soft touches. I wish stern would bring back the old hand check so we could see how all these softies these days can really play against tough defence

Nah can't remember it but I bet at least he got touched, Wade got pushed by ghosty#1. Agree though and I've said it many times before, if there is a rule to be exploited people will!

on a side note, if they had of called travel on that play where Kidd faked Wade and got him in the air big time and then got smashed when he came down on him I think my head would have exploded!

I think JVG had it down pat when he said players are realising the angle refs are at and playing for fouls. I remember both the Dirk and Wade calls and both were good examples...I think the players have to take responsibility - it's like diving at soccer. I hate it. I don't blame the refs one bit for it and also think the refs are doing a decent job in this series. If u remember back to all the moaning about the C's/Lakers finals last year the refereeing was twice as bad, there were about 6-8 bad calls a game. Now there's 2 or 3 tops.
If u yourself have ever reffed a game that's not bad for a 48 minute game. I know I stuff up more than that....

Not just that, referees need to man up a bit and stop calling the phantom calls. Tell Dirk and Wade, "You pair are the best players in this series, stop carrying on like school girls and PLAY!!"

See i think thats a cop out. All during the season and earlier playoffs they called these tech fouls consistently no matter the ref. A player only had to look at the ref wrong and it was a T.
