Help needed on Dynamic Signature Cards

Of course I didnt mean 2 offend any 1 when I said that amount was 'crazy' I thought it was crazy how wrong I was about that sets signature cards.
My first opinion was I didnt think they would b worth that much, that being said I didnt really know much about them

For the rarity it is a good price but personally i dont really like the set. "Ridiculous" is not meant to offend anyone with the set

Don't worry everyone, I wasn't offended.

I think with 90s signatures rarity isnt nearly reflected well enough when comparing prices with eachother.

Definitely ... they almost all go for around $150, despite the numbering ranging from 1500 to 200 ... and with some of the later signature cards, I have no doubt that less than the stated number went into circulation before Dynamic went belly-up.

There are a lot out there also that have the 3 card set but are not signed by the Dynamic Staff etc, I have a few of those and they are still fetching the same price as the other sets.

Sounds like dynamic dropped the ball...at least now with the select cards you know EXACTLY what you are chasing...i mean look how many different varieties of cel cards there are in 96 signature gold set...i doubt im the only one thats confused by that one lol

too true.............

Lets just keep it amongst ourselves until i have more of them in my collection.

Okay one last question on these Cel cards. James posted the following.

Then with the standard sized element cards:

1. Regular
2. Wave pattern
3. Wave pattern signed, un-numbered
4. Wave pattern signed, numbered to 200 with card sized certificate of authenticity

It my understanding (and i may be wrong) but i thought the Wave pattern signed, un-numbered were just the ones out of the Dynamic liquidation that where not redeemed/sold??? Does anyone know different. Im pretty sure it was Steve Wang from Cardzone that told me that.

Yeah, signed un-numbered are definitely from the Dynamic bankruptcy sale, so not an official part of the set.

It's anyone's guess which ones are and aren't, really. I'm not sure if you could get the normal sized cels with waves on from packs (anyone know?). And it would be my guess that all of the un-numbered mastercels just came out when they went bust.

this was the COA and the other card i got with the set...apparently if the signed gold card from the pack was sent pack to dynamic the bearer would recieve these back also

Hi All,

A week late but i have finally got a definitive answer on these 1996 Gel cards

For the regular cards there is a signed version of every fire, air, earth and water cards (36 in total). If you sent in 18 wrappers along with $14.95 (gee Dynamic was desperate for cash at this stage) you could get one signed card. Therefore Dynamic released the regular card in packs and you sent away for the wave pattern signed (out of 200) with the certificate of authenticity. That means to get the set of signed regular gel cards you needed 648 wrappers (thus buy 18 boxes of cards) and send in $538.20 in postage and handling to get your cards. Is it any wonder these muppets went broke.

Its my understanding the regular wave cards and the signature cards without number or COA just came out of the Dynamic liquidation sale. (thanks james gould)

To get the Master Cel card set you needed to send in 36 wrappers and $24.95 postage and handling and you would get the standard Master Cel - numbered to 400, Master Cel with wave pattern, numbered to 100, Master Cel with wave pattern, signed, numbered to 200. On top of this the first 900 people also got the oversize master cel card. That means to get the set you needed 324 wrappers and $224.55 in postage and handling costs to get the set of them.

Therefore to get both sets you needed to buy at least 27 boxes and pay $726.25 in postage and handling charges to get it.

Based on this information i would have to put both these signed sets down as the rarest every made - I would rank these harder to get than the "holy grail" 1963 Scanlens set.

On top of this the first 900 people also got the oversize master cel card.

What is this, just an unnumbered mastercel?

Well this stuff is getting harder and harder to find, and going for more. I have to say I am pretty lucky in that I grabbed all the Johns mastercel stuff back in 2001 or so - the early days of ebay when it was a bit more common and cheaper! Not long after Dynamic's sell-out as well, so there were some bargains around.

Did anyone around here manage to complete a set of the In their Elements cards numberd to 200? I just pulled out some of my old folders to have a look and I have 6 of them with certificates.
Brett Dallas 26/200
Craig Field 26/200
Brett Mullins 26/200
Glenn Lazarus 26/200
Terry Lamb 38/200
Tim Brasher 26/200

I was sure I had a Dave Watson one as well but that is not there. I might have traded it but can't remember doing it.
