Bulls v Heat 2011 Playoffs Eastern Final Thread **SPOILERS INSIDE**

holy moley...that was an INSANE finish to the 4th!!!!! Wade and Lebron just taking turns taking punches to knock down shot after shot!!!! 12 points down with 3 minutes remaining, it really looked like it was all over. It was like watching a video game, seriously, that was so ridiculous. Wade, Wade, Lebron, Wade, Lebron, Lebron, Bosh free throws. Game!!! Turbo, X, square, release button at peak of jump, nuthin' but net!!!! So pumped to see Miami closing out such a crucial game on the road!!! Can we expect the Finals to go to a Game 7 with both teams playing so well? I sure hope so!!!

did rose miss a free throw to tie the game?

He sure did...can see a lot of people getting on his case for losing this series. Took a lot of 3 pointers in the series and only made .233 and shot .350 from the field. Miami just had too many weapons, Lebron had missed 9 shots in a row, but Wade picked up the slack for Lebron and then when Lebron got his rhythm back, they were within striking distance. Rose goes cold for stretches and not too many people can step up to score, they have to rely on their defense to clamp down on the other end and keep them in it.

yeah i think this could really give him a bad name i guess you could call it people are going to start recognising him as a choker this is 2 games in a row he could have won for them

Yeh, cos two games in your first conference finals series defines who you are as a 22yr old. Forget the fact hes the MVP of the league.

Derrick ROSE will NEVER get a bad name!!!

Derrick Rose DIDN'T choke!!
Why didn't the Bulls coach make an executive smarter decision, and get Rose to set up a play, drive inside the box and pass the ball outside to K.Korver, Bogans or Dang for a 3-pt play!?!?!?!?!? Why?! The coach makes a decision, and this coach made a "BAD" decision!!! Think all you want.
I'll buy all your Rose cards at half-price if you dont want them

When a coach calls a time out he decides what 'play' will take place. This Bulls coach thought "Rose is God - give him the ball" and Miami know the ball is gonna go to Rose and double-team him! Not even Bulls of the 90's would have done that play.
Do you all remember a 3-pt winning shot play by Bulls against Phoenix in game 6 final '94 to win the title?

No idea what you're talking about.

The "choking" that other guys is talking about is the missed free throws.

In Game 4 Rose missed a free throw that would've given the Bulls the lead with not much time left to go. In this one, Rose missed a free throw that would've tied it up with less than 30 seconds to go. Makes it a completely different ball game.

I'm not saying he's a choker, as he's young - but hey, those free throws could've made a big difference.

Yeah they are in desperate need of a scoring two-guard who can play defense. If they can get one that can create his own shot, and hold his own on defense. They will be right back here again challenging for a spot in the Finals.

Maybe CJ Watson as a 2 guard? He plays preety solid D and provides a spark on the offensive end. Or another option is to pickup this guy in the draft

Marshon Brooks | NBADraft.net

His expected to go #28 to the bulls.

Dunno if CJ is cut out to be a full-time starter. A lot of his value at the moment is because he provides a spark off the bench. But as a starter I'm not sure how he would be.

Marshon Brooks is a lights out scorer but I don't think you can put any stock in a rookie being the answer. He's similar to Jodie Meeks who came out a few seasons ago. Can light it up and score from everywhere, but probably not physical enough to get plugged into the starting lineup straight away, and limitations on defense and other areas...

Alonzo, one classy guy.

Can't believe they let that lead slip, at home, with series on the line!

Yep.... they did their best job at pulling an OKC. :(

You say the Heat are a "2 man team", and even with you ignoring the fact that Bosh has scored over 20 points in 3 of the 5 games, the Bulls have been exposed as a 1 man team - because other than Rose they get nothing of quality offensively. Apart from maybe Boozer exerting himself, which he only chooses to do 50% of the time.

It's pretty sad when you pay Boozer as much as they do & they have to remove him in the fourth quarter; IMO you shouldn't be paid THAT much money & be such a liability to the team.

Boozer has turned himself into the league's best cheerleader. He opens his gob and roars like a big hairy yeti every opportunity he gets - funny thing is it's never for his own plays as he doesn't make many. The best one was that great Rose dunk on Anthony, Boozer watches it happen and then roars in Lebron's ear like he just destroyed the heat in one foul swoop. Is it 5 years and 81 mill for Boozer?? That must be real depressing for Rose.
That and the fact that Noah hasn't come on offensively at all, so basically it's as Jimbo said Rose, Deng (a poor man's Pierce who did play well) and two good rebounders for the next how many years??

You got it in one. If you ever read the comments on youtube videos that feature Boozer they're all saying stuff about him screaming like a caveman in every damned video!

Article from Hang time Blog, which further stupifies your comment.

"The fact is, when faced with having to carry a similarly unprepared lineup early in his career, Michael Jordan couldn’t do it either. In 1989 and ’90, when a young Scottie Pippen was still learning to become perhaps the greatest shotgun-rider in history, the Bulls lost to the Pistons in six games in the conference semifinals and in seven games in the conference finals.
Against the best defensive team of the era, Jordan was not able to single-handedly overcome constant trapping and smothering and attacking from two or three opponents. So why would anyone expect more from Rose?"

Jimbo, I was referring to them being a 2 man team because it seems that only 2 of them fire at the same time...... Bosh did really well in the ECF he took his chances and took advantage of the focus going to Wade and Lebron!

Rose choked? GTFO of here, the guy is 22, he has had the entire offensive load all playoffs bar a couple of games. People really need to get a fking clue, so many people on here and other forums that just don't know what they are talking about... Seriously, go do a bit of research and actually watch a game or 2 before you go making spastic, un educated comments.......

Agree - Thibodeau didn't do a great job managing the forth quarter in this series. Not much Rose can do if he has 2 guys guarding him. Mike Wilbon saying on PTI this morning there is talk that Bull's will make a move for Dwight. If true can only assume they will put Boozer on the chopping block.

I wouldn't be complaining about that at all! Still think we need to fill the SG slot though

this is well said hence why at the start of the series I said it will depend on the Bulls maturity level. Two of the games they lost they should have won. They just froze for a qtr. They now need to grow as team and get another good player in the squad and they will be winning.

Overall at the start of the year I said Bulls are about 2-3years away. They have played better than I expected this year.

Just watched the game today, didn't get a chance to watch it last night. WHAT A GAME!! Well what a 4th quarter I should say. Not much happened in the first 3 quarters, a part from Deng's monster jam!! I really do feel sorry for Rose. Guy had a chance to tie the game with a free throw and missed a shot that he would make 100 times a day. Just shows that age does mean something in these big stages. As a Cavs fan, I can see this Bulls team becoming like the LeBron-era Cavs. Have a great season and thn never get it done in the playoffs. Props and congrats to the HEAT as well, but I'm going for Dallas!!
