*sigh* the noobs strike once again!! i can't blame them though, when i was younger i had no idea either, i thought my mj commons and a few parallels were worth up to $1000 each.

I guess we were all noobie's once...

Worse thing about it all... you try to help them sometimes, and they fire up, saying how much they paid for them all "back in the day", how packs were $6.95 each, and the MJs were "worth" $20US BV ($26AU), so now they must be "rare" that he's retired, and they'd be worth $50AU now.....

It's a harsh world for the noob's in selling their old collections aye...

At the last card show here in SYD, I was sitting with Sonny and this older guy came up with a folder of NBA cards from 93-94-95, mostly base. He said he had put them away from his son years ago hoping to hold onto them and see how much they're worth now. It was a nice story but it wasn't easy telling him that they're worth pretty much nothing. He took it well though.
It just shows that there's alot of people out there that aren't as 'educated' as we are and that we shouldn't dump on them. If they react harshly, and I've had the same situation Scotty after trying to explain to someone about what their cards were worth, then it's their loss.

thats hilarious. i saw that and his mate a folder full of playboy cards. weirdos.

I'm still waiting on finding a stack of old cards at a Garage Sale.

Even if it's shit from 93 or 94, I've NEVER seen anyone tossing out cards
(Except myself). Not that it's a big deal, just never seen them.

I've had the Mayor of our Council here show me his son's collection from 93-94 & 94-95, they were in a small folder with 9-pocket pages, which were MINT AS BLOODY MINT CAN BE, the cards were the same condition. It was crazy to see they're still in the same collection. I think I saw a Nick Van Exel RC from Ultra, but that's about all that was the "good stuff".
