I think I'm missing it too. I don't think it was coincidence they didn't finalise the Graham deal until Idris had officially signed elsewhere.

Are you suggesting that because they were involved in talks with Graham and Idris at the same time, two expensive players, that demonstrates a willingness on the club's part to rort the cap? Or is it, that shows they have plenty of money to spend under the cap? What is your point?

I reckon that Greenberg saying with great confidence that Idris would be retained was to perhaps put off the other potential clubs last ditch top ups to the contract. Bit of a smoke screen but who really knows???

YOUR NOT RORTING THE CAP have said it twice already... I replied to one of your messages to correct you when you said Idris contract money was used for Graham, to point out that he was on a low salary therefore unless you signed Graham for $100,000... I also said i beleive that your are probably front & backloading contracts as you have signed up a lot of players recently and have paid some big money for them, so i will say it again I DON'T BELIEVE YOR RORTING THE CAP, im actually pretty confident no club would be presently....
Do you also think that no $$ had been discussed with Graham before Idris signed with the Titans?? Or maybe Greenberg said to Graham will give $1million over 3 years, 1st year $150,00, then once Ryan goes we can give you 2nd year $425,000, 3rd year $425,000....

I agree Mischa, have you ever heard of a club saying "we're negotiating to re-sign Mr X, but we're not very confident ..."?

It's common practice, it's him publicly declaring the offer is super dooper fantastic and Idris would be mad to knock it back. Whether or not that's true is irrelevant, he has to say that. The Newcastle Herald reported the Knights were confident of tabling a competitive offer for him too.

A manager would be making sure he tells all clubs his player is available, they don't want to lose out on their commission :)

Was just trying to understand your point mate, the ellipses gave the impression there was one in there somewhere.
