Collections V New Stuff...

Just thought of this...

With your current PCs, and the new stuff out, and coming out, do you think that your Player(s) will be released in the latest stuff, and will it effect your collections?

I was just talking with Pete (the_pie) and I thought of this.

For me, with the 06-07 there's little Harris stuff coming out (that I can see of), and it kinda makes his Rookie-Year stuff look harder to get, and more expensive as, if there's not much coming out now (considering they're concentrating on Rookies these days), the only stuff he'll have is his Rookies, will demand a higher price for the stuff that is out at the moment.

What are people's thoughts on their situations??????????

I guess I am lucky in a way as I only collect Finest, I just have to hope that they don't cancel my product, like they did to the 01-02 set. As I have spent the last 9 years building my collection I don't know if I would want to start a different product or collect a player. But then it would be a nice challenge to get a graded 86-87 Fleer set.

I seriously hope bogut doesnt have too many more releases.
It means i wont have to fork out as much for later seasons and i can concentrate on his rookie year and other sets that interest me

Dont think you have to worry about cancelling Finest again AJ! Its their flagship release and i seriously doubt they will let it go again

Yeah, Finest will continue to come out, especially if they've had HUGE sales since the 02-03 Season.

Bogey should slow down in releases, until he becomes another "Karl Malone" or someone of equal status.

He's not gonna win a Title in the near few years. Much the same as the other RCs around that same era.

I think your on the money Lippo, but if Finest is Topps flagship I can not understand why they would allow it to get infected with these absolute crap CELEBRITY CARDS. I guess I should put my money where my mouth is a send them a nice little letter asking who the moron who allowed this to happen.

I don't think you'll have to worry, there will still be plenty of Devin coming out. Maybe not in every set but I'd say at least half. Walker is on a star packed team and he was still in nearly every set last year, add all the parallels, jerseys and autos and theres plenty to keep chasing! These days they do pump out way to many cards in players RC seasons in my opinion. RC year cards will always demand good prices, especially if the player is still playing well and the more of them get swallowed into PCs.

In terms of my own pc, I realise Mourning probably won't be in alot of the newer releases especially after he didn't make an appearance in this year's Finest. But it's not that bad, it gives me more time to track down cards I need from the last 14-15 years..

And I agree with you AJ, Topps has to can the whole celebrity thing.
Or at least get some cooler ones like Burt Reynolds for instance

I think being a player collector is very tough these days.....infact I would almost find it a relief if I were collecting a player like Devin for him not to have many releases this year. It would allow much more time, money and effort being spent in chasing down the cards I didnt have of his from his rookie years.

Yeah!!! Let's have a CANNONBALL RUN insert set. Each of the stars of cannonball run had more talent in their little toe than the 5 celebrity moments wanna bees put together.

as alot of you know i collect J.RICH autos and i am yet to see a J.RICH auto from any of the 05-06 sets, which iam sort of happy about cause it allows me to concentrate more on Gordon autos from his rookie year. Looking on ebay over the last 2 months the j.rich auto have dropped by a considerable amount.
