Bennett say's NO to Bronco's

All signs point to the Knights, since he doesn't want to go to Sydney, won't coach another Queensland team apart from the Broncos, and came out the other day saying he was a big Tinkler supporter.

He WANTS to stay in Sydney
I was so shocked at the announcement which makes me think that something big has happened since Bruno Cullen left as CEO.
I admit he has done wonders at St George but they do have some pricey players on hand that he should have made what they are!
I think there is no challenge with Newcastle other than money and buying money players which there are none left.
Souths is an option as we all want to see them stay alive only for history sake!
Retirement as a coach and oversee the Broncos from here on is is an option also!
He is the best coach around but only with great personnel!

Not quite sure what you mean here? Souths ain't gonna die Steve. LOL. I think we need to get 17 doormen to the new league's club and never have cap issues with an entire Qld State of Origin side, wink wink, LOL.

He lives in Wollongong not Sydney... If he wants to be closer to his family then it's either Brisbane or Newcastle (airport there direct flight) Nth Qld is futher from his "home"...
If he goes to Souths they with Boyd they will need to get rid off players, they just scrapped in Inglis, Boyd will be $250-$350 thousand...
If he goes to Newcastle, where do you play him Fullback (Gidley), 5/8 (B.Henry) do you move Henry to reserves, Gidley to 5/8???
Boyd should stay at the Dragons, where he has grown from a BOYd to a MAN

i have 2 slim possibilities for thought
1. Gold Coast is pretty close to his family in Brisbane and the Titans are 1/5 and on the bottom of the table and playing like crap.
2. The NRL are disscussing expansion later in the year, if the 2nd Brisbane side or Ipswich gets the nod, that would be the challenge Wayne might like!!

1.The GoldCoast Titans just signed up Cartwright for 5 years doubt they would punt him, the payout would be massive, they need an injection of players, they will go hard for Boyd....

Newcastle don't need Boyd - the only option is in the centres, really. MacDougall is retiring after this year, and although it looks like we might get Idris, this might in turn force Sau out. But really, I don't think Newcastle have the cap room, if they get Idris and Snowden.
I must say it's poor form from Boyd. I'd be well annoyed with him is I was a Dragons fan. He isn't showing you a lot of respect with the way he's going on about leaving!
To be honest, I don't want him at the Knights, I reckon he's over-rated anyway.

"It has been widely reported that Bennett has been offered up to $2 million a season with the Knights, however, it is my understanding he could earn double that money if he was to get the Knights a premiership in his first season as coach. Bennett has been offered $1.2 million as a sign-on fee and then the bonuses kick in - $1 million to make the finals and $500,000 for each finals win and then a further $1million if he delivers the premiership trophy to the Knights in 2012."
No one is going to knock this back. Its also widely been reporting in the Newcastle media that Tinkler has also offered him the ability to use his private jet anytime he wants to travel back and forth to Brisbane.
The Knights have a bucket load of players coming off contract this year. Will have plenty of cap space.
The Knights need someone like Bennett to repair the damage Brian Smith inflicted on the club. BRING IT!

Brian Smith ... damage? Yep, what was he doing getting rid of nuffies like Reynoldson and replacing them with excellent players like Taia, De Gois, Hilder, Fa'aoso, Houston ... pretty much the backbone of our side right now.
We'd be strugging big time at the moment if Smith hadn't come to the Knights ... the jury is still out on Stone, we had a terrible 2010 and this year are at 50%. Terrible decision by the board to get rid of Smith, especially considering he lead the Roosters to the grand final last year. What could have been!
