Argh! Quick, someone tie my hands!

So a Menzies National Heroes auto set has popped up (which I've wanted for ages), and it's currently at juuust a little bit more than I'm comfortable with. They're getting scarcer, but there will be more - right? Right?

I dunno if I should go for it. I mean, the 1996 Signature Gold cel redemption with COA is numbered out of just 200 and it only cost $60 a couple of years ago. This is 5 times less scarce (/1000) and it's currently at almost $120!

Is this a sign of things to come? Does it represent true value, OR has Select managed to pump more value into the old stuff? By lessening the load on collector's pockets with no (quality) releases in 2010, I think they have created a false market because we're now spending what we would have spent on a 2010 premium product on older stuff, and the competition of doing so drives prices up.

I guess I'm having trouble drawing the line between my wants and my patience.

I say go for it mate. You'll kick yourself if you let it go and can't find another. I've had the same issue a few times lately. I decided by flipping a coin. I ended up buying both times and definatley don't regret it.

I have been watching that seller also, he has the six national heroes auto sets up for auction, just got home so I saw the menzies and fittler finished for between 120 - 150 dollars which I would think is about the right price range, if I could get any for less than 120 I would be VERY happy indeed.

I recently sold a fittler 1996 all fired up 3 card signature set, I got a premium price for it cause it was going to a high end collector who was just happy to get it (more than 170) so they can get up there for sure BUT I personally try to go less than 150.

Yeah, I was thinking $150 at most. I bidded $155 at the end and still hadn't got in the clear, so it looks like I'll have to wait longer!

$60 bucks for the Signature Gold cel with COA out of 200 was an absolute steal!!! For a player like Menzies, I'd expect $150-$200 for that.

$120 for the Menzies National Hero out of 1000 sounds bang on the money, or up to $150 even.

They aren't super rare though, another one will come up within the next year, I'd say.
