Been away a couple of weeks and had a few padded mailers waiting for me when I got back which is always a good feeling! Thanks to those who I've been dealing with - you know who you are!

First up some nice freebies from cardman and collectorgalore:

Granger RC / 999, Penny Die Cut Hologram Tribute card and Chris Crawford jersey numbered 4/50

SAVE0271.jpg

Bit of trade bait if anyone's interested:

Ellington GU / auto #/399 (great looking cards), Nick Young auto /6225, Jeff Teague auto /499 and a nice on-card auto of the 'other Griffin' /999

SAVE0272.jpg

Jarrett Jack auto /1299 and Gerald Henderson NBA Apprentice GU / auto #45/50 - fantastic looking card IMO

SAVE0273.jpg

Did I mention that I like Lettermen? Here's a few - spell what you can! All numbered around 600ish. Love lining them up together like this but the set chases are very, very, frustrating!

SAVE0274.jpg

Granger Press Pass auto (on-card) and a Belinelli Number-man? Numbered 02/15

SAVE0275.jpg

Now for some of the older chaps in their baby faced college auto cards. Finley and Billups both in nice sharpie on card. Finley hand serialled 247/1000

SAVE0276.jpg

My first Rodman auto - pretty low end but doesn't really bother me! #/1299 Pretty lazy auto though!

SAVE0278.jpg

Great add for the Mashburn PC. On card auto hand serialled 152/1000. Check out the sig - it's HUGE!

Now as promised some old school for the old timers and one for the PC.

SAVE0279.jpg

Just kidding fellas, I've actually got some better old school stuff than that!

It's the ultimate in old school goodness......

these guys aren't just old school.....

they taught at the old school!

Can't get any older basketball cards.........

3 x 1948 Bowmans! Check out the sharp corners on these bad boys - pretty unbelievable considering they're ungraded and 53 years young! Unfortunately some idiot put sticky tape on the surface and has tried to fix it up with er, mixed results at best.... But at the price I paid was pretty happy with their overall condition.

From left to right:

SAVE0280.jpg

Leo (Crystal) Klier - 6'2' forward for the Fort Wayne Zollner Pistons. Named Consensus 1st Team All-American at Notre Dame in 1944. Went to fight in World War II an dcame back and was named Consensus 1st Team All-American again in 1946!

Jack (Dutch) Garfinkel - Bought by the Celtics and was part of the first ever Celtics squad and their unofficial team captain for two years. Considered the best backcourt player in 1948 with 'top defense' and a 'deadly setshot from outside the keyhole'. lol. love the old school phrases!

Price Brookfield - a 6'4' Centre from West Texas State Teachers College who played for the Indianapolis Jets. Apparently had 'one of the sweetest one-handed push shots in the game'. lol Had a reputation as a bit of a microwave for heating up quickly and pouring in some quick buckets in quick time. The original instant offense!

Thanks for looking folks, comments always appreciated and apologies for the novel at the end!

Damn sticky tape! Awesome Bowman 48's man. Sweet Mash auto and Ruby too :v:

My first Ruby! ...and it's jersey numbered! ...and it's a freebie! How awesome is OCT!

some sweet cards there

its like the sun herald word thingy

i got OPIUM  or have a nice LUMP O .... EIL for dinner

Interesting insight into how your brain works right there! Illicit drugs and eating lumps.... ;-)

hmm interesting how did you get your hands on those old school cards?

No secrets mate, just being diligent on the forums and the bay. I treat it like searching for another PC player. :)

Lovin the old schools man and all those lettermen lined up look awesome ;)

Should have enough lettermen to start my own find-a-word! heh heh

Wow man there is a whole lot of nice cards there
Sticky tape on cards, now why didn't I think of that

...because you have a fully functioning brain!!

Nice Bowman 48s Skip good job getting some of them, regardless of condition.

Yeah, can't be too picky when they're that old. Pity is if it wsn't for the tape the corners are pretty sharp and otherwise grade worthy.

cool lookin 48's, you dont see them much anymore... mash auto is the key to the mailday for me

How cool is the Mash auto? Won't see too many like that these days! Big, clean, full sig and on-card! Sen-friggin-sensational!

Some nice suff there Skip really like the bowman 48's.

If you're not down with the Bowman 48s you can't call yourself a true basketball card collector!

really nice range of cards there mate, very nice ;). its a 1st for me seeing the old school cards taped and sold like that though lol. man they're OLD cards!!!.

ps. i thought the freebies (mainly the crawford rubies) was from GarnettFan4Life?????:lol:

Ah Bowman 48, very cool cards. EXCEPT for the tape! I definitely have to get a graded 48 soon!

I've got a couple of graded 48s and the corners on these three kick their azzes! The tape looks like it's from decades ago too - so I supose it is still an accurate representation from that era!

ah, you're being too modest mate - good deeds by the both of you!

Nice lettermans... if all goes to plan I'll have Ellington Completed very soon :)

Um, could you have picked a longer surname for a letterman chase? maybe next you can go after Douglas-Roberts, Abdul-Jabbar, Ilgauskus and Szczerbiak! lol If you need the Ellington just let me know and I'l run hrough what new T-Wolves stuff I've picked up lately...

I think that makes about 6 or 7 bowman 48s now - great iconic cards! I've got 2 or 3 of those Nick Young autos now - this one was numbered 2001/6225 so I guess the sig is still relatively nice, would liek to see what #6225 looks like, by hten he probably just starting signing as NY - heh
