nba 2k11 - my player

fricken bullsh!t!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i was playing the bobcats, my team COULD NOT make a shot, im on 71 points cos i had to take over in the 2nd, we're down by 5 i hit a 3, miss a layup, block augustine then dunk with 19 seconds left...i thought im not letting the AI beat me by cheating me so i saved it....went to reload it.....NUP!! THE MOTHER FRICKER WONT LOAD....IVE LOST ALLLLLLLLL OF MY PLAYER, 48 GAMES!!!!

That's what you get for cheating

me cheat? my team went 1 for 15 in the 1st! i missed an OPEN and i mean OPEN layup to tie it with 45 seconds left...IT cheated me think i busted my controller too from throwing on the tiles, its still under our other futon

 Yeah you shouldn't look at my controller...there are rubber bands holding it together... Mainly from Uncharted 2 online though...

Oh Slobby the game might just be taking AGES to load, which is what is happening to me now.

Takes about 4 minutes to load the My Player save file then another 3 minutes to get into the game...

I got the new patch (which does the play making). Since GSW insist on playing me @ the 3, they keep setting plays for me to shoot 3's... it's driving me up the wall. But that is of course *when* Ellis or Curry decide to pass the ball. I lost a controller to the game yesterday. I think it's time to give it away for a while.

What's driving me up the wall more is that since the patch you cannot play online games against mates anymore. It starts up and then boots you both out ~2-3mins into the game...have tried over and over again, fail always. They've had a rather to the point e-mail sent to them...

nah mate its not taking ages, its stuffed! i get all the way to the point where you press A to start then its just black screen. it was black for 20 mins last night....im thinking of starting again or going with my first one that i started initially where i was drafted to the knicks...depending on my controller :(

"A"? Ah huh! There's your problem. You've got an XBox...

yeah could be it! its not connected to the net either so i dont have to go through that stupid patch that everyones talking about.

LOVE the patch! Makes My Player soooo much better IMO. Hate the fact that I can't play against my mate...but League games still work. But yeah, I reckon it makes My Player much much better and realistic. It's a little harder to simply take over a game, but once you have the ball there's nothing making you finish the plays that the computer started running.

i havent played in almost a week...i see they havent fixed the widely hated patch? ok ill wait another week.

Has anyone else noticed that the plays change in your 2nd season? Im running different plays now than i used to in my first season.
Im also coming off the bench again now (first 10 or so games) for some reason even though im averaging 33.9ppg 10.7rb 4.1ast.

I've become a bit of a sharp shooter of late too droping 11 3's in a game the other day on 67% shooting from out side (my previous best was 5 trey's), had a couple of sick step back ankle breakers on Carter and Lewis that got me excited

Also got my own custom Jordan's which gave me +8 midrange, i was already 90 rated midrange so now he's deadly.
Loving the new patch, now just to break back into the starting squad even though i still get as many minutes as the starters. Been thinking about leaving the Heat and becoming a star player on a different squad just don't want to end up at some bummy team where no one can hit shots

Not sure man i've never touched sliders or anything. Im rated 79 atm though and have high ratings on shoot in traffic/shoot off drible and my mid-long range ratings are high. Im always trying to grab boards too its been my little mission in game to get atleast 10 boards a game. When ever the ball goes up im into the paint looking for the board, it leaves my man open a bit but gotta get my boards
Not too bad considering i only have a 55rating on defensive rebounds and 30 on offensive boards.

If you haven't changed anything you will be playing on Pro. It is the easiest level, but I play on it too because I find the "harder" ones only make the opposition AI a lot better, and your teammates really crap. A pretty bad way to manage the difficulty levels if you ask me.

Anyway I'm 53 games in. Now on my 5th team. Danny Granger and Hansbrough are scheduled to be out pretty much the whole season and we just had a 3 game losing streak. Pacers were sitting about 4 games out of the playoff race and I knew I wouldn't be able to carry the team throughout the second half of the season.

Russian Roulette again with the trading as the "teams" interested were 5 or 6 different teams from the moment I pressed request trade. Took 4 games for me to be traded, but luckily enough wound up with the Charlotte Bobcats who are #4 in the East with 32 wins so far or something like that. They put me as the starting SG and moved Stephen Jackson to 6th man as well.

So that makes it 5 teams for me. Thunder, Jazz, Trail Blazers, Pacers and now Bobcats where I will stay since the trade deadline has passed.

I also got selected to both the Rookie-Sophomore Game and All-Star Game. I played for the Eastern Conference Team and I was the 7th man listed in the selections.

I don't know why you guys got no game time in your All-Star Games though, because I played 18 minutes, second only to Amar'e who played 25. I play 8 minute quarters so 18/32 minutes is not too bad for the All-Star Game.

I ended up getting my A+ rating for the game, leading my team in scoring (19 points) and tied for boards (7 rebounds) and wound up winning All-Star Game MVP as we won the game too.

Too bad there is no milestone or skill points for winning All-Star Game MVP though, they should look at incorporating that next season.

P.S. I am rated 67 so far, 53 games into my first season on 8 minute quarters. I'm averaging 25.8 PPG, 3.6 RPG, 3.4 APG, 1.1 SPG and shooting 55.6% from the field, 33% from deep and 93% from the free throw line. I only just got my 3 Point rating up to be able to hit three's over probably the last 12-15 games but I've already hit 47 triples after having I think 1 make through the first 40 games.

What is the best way to get my rating up? I've been playing for about 3-5 hours. I'm a 6'3" SG, did well enough in Combine and preseason to get drafted in 2nd round to the Bucks. I'm playing behind Redd, games on 5 min quarters. Obviously I need to up my quarters to 8 mins to get decent stats, but is there any other way that I can get my player ratings up faster?

Get a good handle on your guys jumpshot - then use ALL your drills on shooting. This is because it's the easiest drill and you will definitely get gold each time. With 10 drills that means you will get at least +10 on your shooting attributes as well as 4000 skill points (you get 400 for getting gold in each).

Once you've done that, there is no secret to getting more skill points.

In the games you definitely have to play more than 5 minute quarters - but getting an A+ rating is the most crucial.

If you get an A+ rating you get 900 skill points just for that, I think if you get A only get 750 so there is a significant difference when you play a lot of games. Try and win as well otherwise you get -100 and if the objectives are easy do them as well.

There is no secret, but make the most of every game. Some of the guys here have increased their guys rating heaps in a short period of time.

I know my guy has got to be 67 overall in only 53 games so that's pretty good in itself.

Played first 2 games with Bobcats. Pretty good, I no longer have to play Small Forward and only ever play Shooting Guard or Point Guard.

Pretty sweet that Stephen Jackson has been moved to the bench for me, because he was also selected an All-Star. Gerald Wallace wasn't, but he's a beast. He just keeps running. Easy way to get assists if you find him in transition, cause he's throwin it down.

It's so good not having to do everything by myself. Got 1800+ skill points both last games, won both games by over 25 points.

First game scored 28 points, tallied 13 boards. Second game went off for 43 points and 5 assists in a blowout, including hitting 8/18 from the perimeter.

I scored a lot but I didn't need to. We've got Gerald Wallace, Stephen Jackson, Tyrus Thomas, DJ Augustin, Boris Diaw, Gerald Henderson, Nazr Mohammed and more. They can all put up numbers.
