I'm in the middle of a trade at the moment.. I was awaiting the cards before posting due to the traders low feedback score!

The cards i've received are in terrible condition, although they are only base cards they have absolutely no use to me in the condition they are in..
I could understand one or 2 edges here and there but these cards are all edged.. around 100 or so cards.

I've message the person and they want me to complete my end of the deal because apparently i didn't ask the condition of the cards.

Just wanted to know where i stand on this one..

I'm sure i would have asked condition, but have nothing to back me up in relation to this as there is no sent items in my inbox..

Yeh they are..
is there anywhere that states cards should be mint unless stated?

i suggest contact graham or some of the other moderators billy hoyle, matt etc. They always get to the bottom of things, also you see that really small exclamation mark under every post, click that so they visit this thread and fill out why they should visit so they can try and fix your problem :)

To me it's an implied condition that all cards you sell and trade will be of a condition which you will expect to receive yourself unless stated.

Since we all trust each other no one should have to ask about the condition of cards. If you don't think they are up to scratch then don't sell or trade them or at least the other party.

Yeah good call.. his feedback is 4 or something.. not going to bother investigating!

Just send the bloody things back instead of making a big deal out of it champ. You said, "I'm looking for anything so i have cards to trade" I note you've edited your original post and deleted that bit. I may have 4 feedback on here, I can guarantee you I completed a number of more deals than that and neither of us have bothered worrying about feedback. I've also puirchased cards on here that are not mint. Check my ebay feedback. 2400 mate 96% positive. I've been selling cards for years champ. Like I said, send them back . If you want only mint cards ask for bloody mint.
Yeh, i'm pissed cause this bloke is a goose. waits till the cards arrive , and then decides he doesn't want them.
110 basketball cards in pretty good nick, more than decent trade for a couple of footy cards.

This site and the rules of buying/selling/trading hold itself to a much higher standard than ebay. To say "if you want only mint cards ask for mint" is ridiculous IMO! The exact purpose of the new member/low feedback is to cut down instances of poor habits in the collecting hobby brought about by ebay and other sites and seems to be the case here. Work out a deal to exchange the cards or send back and cancel the deal stating reason in the thread.

" Poor habits" Lol. Mate, like I said, 2400 feedback on ebay with 3 complaints. There aint no poor habits there.

Not every card on the planet is mint.

I'm not your mate. Guilty conscience? Did I say it was your poor habits? Ebay doesn't exactly hold people to a strict code of requirements NOR practice anything close to what could be considered ethical so they couldn't preach that anyway. Your point of feedback vs "complaints" lol is therefore totally irrelevant. THIS IS NOT EBAY!
And yeah NO **** every card is not mint captain obvious, throw the useless ones in the bin don't try and send them to other people

Send them back for sure. You'd expect cards to be in at least a reasonable condition - if they werent it's up to the guy sending the cards to identify this BEFORE sending the cards. It's obvious that not all cards are mint but sending cards that look like you've let the dog play with them, then run over them in the work truck is just not on. Pretty poor form really.

Thanks for the heads up on this - I will need to add something to the site rules to stop it.

There is an implied condition that all cards traded and sold will be of a condition which you will expect to receive yourself unless stated. If you wouldn't like to receive cards in that condition then don't sell or trade them or at least bring it to the attention the other party.

Just make it a rule that the seller must state the condition of the cards for sale or trade then if they dont meet that requirement return them for a refund it works on Ebay. I think IMO it is also up to the buyer to establish the cards condition before buying, as the old saying goes "never buy a pig at a poke"

As previously stated, they were in more than reasonable condition. Not MINT , but i never said they were, and definetly not in poor condition. He just doesn't want them. GARNETTFAN4LIFE , oh dam, your not my mate . Boo hoo. Grow up champ.

I'm sure the famous basketball cards are not the only ones to have graced the post not in mint condition.

He's got the desired result anyhow, made the mountain out of the mole hill, after he changed his mind. Hate to see him the next day after paying a deposit for a house.

I recently bought some scanlens cards on Ebay and they were advertised as good-very good I would have rated them Cra*-Shi* and it's because of this difference of opinions of judgement that puts people off of buying off the net, I am pleased to say that 99% of people I deal with advise me of the condition before I commit, as for the 1% that don't I ask for scans and if I don't like them I simply and politely decline the offer. Simply put it takes two to do a deal so it should be equal responsibility to establish the cards condition

i love this hobby and i love collecting cards, if i am trading/selling a card/s with an imperfection or any damage whatsoever i put it in the description of the card, or explain to the person buying it when working out a deal. I expect the same of every person i deal with, if card condition has not been mentioned by either party when working the deal then i expect the card is in at least very good condition. I have not had a problem on Ozcard and every person i have dealt with has been great. If you enjoy this hobby then all you have is your word and honesty and nothing less than 100% is exceptable. Any kind of bad reputation and nobody will deal with you so it pays to do things the right way IMO. I dont know wat but a rule of some sort needs to be put in place to avoid these sort of situations. im not saying who is right or wrong but this is definately avoidable.

Just having my say
