Also 1971 Mobil BRL, is it 38 cards not 40. i only have 12 of if 40 picked up error in 100 year book of cards

Could someone with accurate knowledge of the promo sets join in......please, this is a worthy thread

Have you had a look at the 'Dan's NRL Cards' book? It may help out with set names and numbers. I have it, but I don't know where it is at the moment! hehe

I do have it, and also a couple of others, so i can cross check, not all books are 100% accurate, some are missing info that the others have, am slowly working on making it a bit more comprehensive, regarding the subsets by adding names to the cards, but not for the common sets, as its way too big of a project presently...

"Complete set of 12" isnt really accurate as they were double stickers and come in every 2 team combination.

The Magpies Chili's from 97... There is a full set of White Logo and a Full set of Black logo. (Not 4 as indicated in Dans) I have personally had 14 in my posession, But on speaking to a couple other collectors about the ones they had...
We came to the conclusion there was pretty much a full set.
Between all of us, We had every card with a black logo.

If there is 25 in the set... We established there was a black one for every white one.
I don't have me book with me... I can't remember how many in the set.

Michael the reference SC2-17 is from the world index of australian and new zealand trade cards written by the members of the cartophillic society of great britiain.
As to what it means I'm not 100% sure myself, but I suspect it is a filling reference number.

You could be right, I have only just purchased them and still waiting for them to arrive in the mail.

Not that I'm aware of Michael.

The comment from 1967sharks is correct, they are stickers and they do come in pairs.
I'm still not sure how many pairs, are in a complete set but I think it's 14 /

I guess the bottom line is there is only 12 stickers regardless of how many pairs there are, they are simply repeats.
But from a collectors point of view it would certainly be a valuable collection to have all of the original pairs.
I've not seen many of these on the market, I guess because they were actually used as stickers and not viewed as collectables at the time?

I tried collecting them like this but the pairs are not the same, I ended up with sharks with roosters, sharks with magpies and so on. Thst is why in my book I listed them seperately because it is difficult to obtain a full set in pairs.

Great work Michael there was a Mal Maninga Kmart redemption card that every collector misses in there lists. Randomly inserted in boxes of series 1 1995 dynamic only produced 100 of these cards . When you got one you sent it to Kmart and in return you recieved the card back with a hole punched in it. As you do today. A $50 gift voucher issued for you to spend at Kmart in the sporting goods area. All the best
