Im assuming some of you guys have dogs. I love dogs. Im just about to pick up my new pup next week. Will post photos when I get her. She's a 5 week old Alaskan Malamute, female and me and my wife and kids have just decided on a name this minute. Tala - it's a Native American name and by pure chance means wolf. I have been looking for a week or so for a name in anticipation of the pup, and have googled Eskimo names, Alaskan names, and today decided to google Native American Names. I scanned down a list and only one name jumped out at me, before I even read the meaning. I guess it was meant to be.

So, I pick up Tala, my beautiful female Alaskan Malamute Wolf Grey soon. I cant wait!

I had a Mally, named Kisha, once before - she passed away 4 years ago, so its finally time to get another one. What am I thinking? My 3rd child will be born sometime in the next 2 weeks as well.... but I just couldnt resist.

So the household tally is.... 4 boys (Me, my 2 sons and Boots the Cat)
5 girls (wife, new baby, new dog, Gypsy the jack russell/chihuahua and Dora the cat)

I'll be out numbered again soon! better get a male gold fish or something :p

I love dogs :) lol , get a goldfish to make up numbers

yeah man, totally different from Huskies, despite the similar looks. For starters Mals are twice the size and 3 times the strength. A full grown male mal can pull up to 1 tonne. Try walking that!! They are also really good family dogs and are quite placid, as opposed to huskies which can be a little intense at times. Malamutes love kids - its got to do with the fact that they are the closest living relative of a wolf... sounds weird I know, but Wolves are very much pack animals, do anything to look after their own pack and especially the younger dogs in the pack - a trait Mals have taken on and included humans in that same trait.

They also dont bark. They "talk" and howl. Its an awesome noise when they talk to you. There's a world of difference between Huskies and Mals, but both are beautiful looking.

this is my dog bam bam, he's a purebred labrador retriever, he's only 8 months old....this pic was taken after he dug a bullsh!t big hole which previously housed a plant that he anhilated
