Re: PS3 NBA2K10 Online Season

That's Chris Paul's first game with the spurs. He was trying to do that type of thing with Billups but Billups is a bit slower, so he offered a trade and somehow the cruddy looking trade he offered got accepted. I was actually surprised to see it having been put through this morning, but thems the breaks. 25 assists...ouch...doesn't shock me much though that vikkit is using some kind of exploitive method of winning ala S2 with Derrick Rose.

In fact, the way you played the Nets and Spurs back to back this morning...the 2 guys who made the Billups/Paul trade, is a little suss. Cause if you look at that trade, it's clearly in favour of the Chris Paul side of the deal. And then they find themselves online at the same time? I'm thinking mates rates trade there...

Sorry I put that deal through and looking at the ratings thought it was more or less even.

It was definitely more even than the Kobe Bryant trade that another mod put through a few days back for Bloods and The Bridge.

I saw it and was thinking bodgy, so left it for Michael to review.

Kobe trade: 96, 81, 66, 61 for 86, 81, 79, 74 gives me a difference of 16 rating points in favour of the Rondo side, however both guys had been in long discussions about getting a deal done and in the end I'd call it fairly even, though clearly not totally even. It's also a matter of how you use your players. To me, Rondo would be like playing with a 60 or lower rated PG simply cause I don't have dribble moves, I'm not a great stealer of the ball and I hardly drive and often shoot. Had I been in that trade, I'd be much much sooner taking the Kobe side of the deal yet we've already ascertained that's the "losing" side of the deal by ratings. The rest of the players in the deal also create upgrades and differences to each team to aid them both.

As for the other trade: 95, 66, 66, 63 for 84, 71, 67, 65... Basically it's 96 and 63 for 84 and 71, but even then, all of the "extras" added to the trade after Paul and Billups are pretty much nothing guys whom will get little to no court time and look to me like the only reason they're in the deal is to perhaps cover the difference between 95 and 84. In the end, who would trade Paul for Billups when they're not actually upgrading ANY other position on their team in the process??? At least when you got Paul in S1 you seriously upgraded Sam at the PF possie also! Not to mention that the 2 managers are from NZ. Possibly just a little consultation might have been better. But ah well.

PS: I could be completely wrong and everything with this trade is above board, but on the face of it, it looks completely mates rates.

Oh, and I messaged Michael about that other trade the other day and told him I thought it was probably alright, but check the users. He replied saying he'd checked them out and that he knew they were legit so he put it through. This is the process in which trades have gone through in S2 in almost all cases, particularly with big name players.

Re: PS3 NBA2K10 Online Season

Yeah gonna have to game plan for that against you mate! He was just starting against me and I could already see it was either going to be Miller shooting or nothing at all  Oh, and do we really have no match-up on the schedule???
Haha yeah i was seeing what Miller could do other than drop trey's i wish the game kept going so i could try the other guys out a bit more.

Fair call. In that case I'll refer all trades I see to be reviewed by you guys.

My mistake - I just assumed that since that Kobe trade was put through and was more uneven on ratings, that one less would be fine.

I guess all that analysis you said is true, but that's not face value. That's some pretty deep analysis of how players will be used and then the motives of the gamers. If you were taking it at face value, you'd just look at the add-ups in comparison to each other.

Not saying I don't see your point, but yeah. A bit of a muddle-up because I used the Kobe one as a reference point, but lesson learnt for next time.

Benny sent you a PM regarding it. Wanted to further discuss in private.

Re: PS3 NBA2K10 Online Season

No worries dude. I guess I just broke the trade down a little more. Sure the Kobe trade did seem a bit odd, but Michael knew that the guys had been negotiating a heap prior. The other trade when broken down was pretty much only the 2 players swapping places since no other positions were upgraded. Anywho, like I said, I could be entirely wrong!

Re: PS3 NBA2K10 Online Season

Season 2 Update:

Boston def Philli 4-1
Bucks - Bulls 0-0
Knicks lead Wizards 2-0
Heat lead Hawks 1-0

T-Wolves lead Nuggets 3-1
Jazz def Grizzlies 4-1
Suns lead Spurs 2-0
Lakers lead Thunder 2-1

Played a Season 3 game last night against Zel. I said a couple of pages back that this season i would live and die by my outside shooting, well, i died a horrible horrible death against Zel. Couldn't even hit my free throws because all the players on my team seem to have unique shooting animations that i'm not use to yet. Zel has Roy who i managed to get 4 fouls on in the 1st quarter and then foul out later in the game when he came back on and i still got whooped. Think my team is more suited to a slow, grind em out game but i keep trying to push it too fast.

yeh Roys worst game so far this season, 5 points the whole game due to being benched, Nate robinson was my man in dat game Digz he shot 6-8 from downtown and had 32 points, funny thing is tho after ure game i played nuggets and i couldnt hit a thing with Nate Robinson lol, tho Roy ended up with 29, but nzgamers outside D was to hard to crack and as much as i tried i couldnt get any1 free to shoot from downtown, so went from the best game i played to the worst game i played in the space of an hour... any want a peice of the raptors 2nite ill be on bout 7.30

Re: PS3 NBA2K10 Online Season

Yeah differing styles for the roster is something I'm struggling with. Roy Hibbert is a good low-post scorer, mid-range shooter and shot blocker but he's so damn slow!

I've got Flynn, Josh Smith, Joe Johnson and a bunch of quick shooters and bench players (e.g. Jamario Moon, Chase Budinger, Jerryd Bayless) - I don't know if Hibbert's speed is keeping my team from doing what it does best!

Re: PS3 NBA2K10 Online Season

Had only 2 quarters of my new team, but I quite liked it! Looking forward to getting some whole games done soon :)

Re: PS3 NBA2K10 Online Season

Yeah hopefully my PS3 magically comes to life tonight and I can get a game done soon tonight!

Re: PS3 NBA2K10 Online Season

3rd game against Giddles (Jazz) again another double digit loss - anybody else sick of unrealistic bball? I thought 2K was supposed to be a sim.
I guess I just long for defensive slogs and true to life scenarios

However I did find Q's range so hopefully he'll be able to bolster my long ball stocks

Re: PS3 NBA2K10 Online Season

Michael can you reset the Hawks/Jazz game? I was havin probs with my screen and then my ps3 froze...might have to send it in :(

Guys does anyone know whats happening with my ps3? I turned it off the other night by holding the power button for 15 second (trying some method to try fix my ps3, dont ask why) and its reset something and now when i turned it back on its all blown up...playing a league game was killer could only see part of the court for defend, terrible!

Why what happened with playin the jazz???

Re: PS3 NBA2K10 Online Season

Why what happened with playin the jazz???

Ok rant on :swear:

He just runs around trying to steal the ball off everyone w/ Steph Curry - and is hard to guard him on offensive end cause he runs around in circles.
Completely unrealistic, but its been the same in the past 2 seasons with certain teams.

My only problem with it is that 2K is meant to be a bball sim, and the way some people play is completely unrealistic.
But if they want to play that way, that's their choice and there's not much I can do but rant off here in the forum.

Ok rant finished :)

Re: PS3 NBA2K10 Online Season

Yeah I played him before but with a blown up screen and a dieing ps3  so it was even hard to see what he was doing  I'll have to replay him and get back to ya on that one
