Lebron - The Decision - Miami it is

Re: Lebron to Miami

lebron can't win mvp this coming season becuase he is in the same team as wade and bosh. i feel he won't play as good as he was in cleveland.

As good in what way? I can see his points going down but he should pick up numbers in other aspects of his game. His court vision isn't going to change and with someone on the team in Wade able to score like he does should be a great combination. I havn't seen much video of the Dream Team but they seemed to work well together for team USA

true, his assists will go up as well!

Re: Lebron - The Decision

haha LeBron scoops his dogs sh!t up off his freshly mown lawn with more money than this would have made out of this so dont get lost in in the "what a great bloke" title he has given himself, because seriously he didnt need to make a show out of this. From all the build up of that show and everyone watching it that would far outweigh the money made for the charity compared to the boost given to his brand so dont feed me the charity stuff. The only decision I got out of today is mine...LeBron is a bigger tool than I ever thought he could be.

Agreed! Home Hardware Tool of the Year  But hey, we'll see what happens now as to see whether that stays at Year or moves into the Decade status...or perhaps it all works, Lebron and the boys gel and he keeps his ego hidden...though I bet next week he comes out with some comment about "Oh boy the summer of 2015 where I become a FA is going to be intense!

Re: Lebron to Miami

first problem no roster, they got Chalmers and Beasley on contract need to fill up the entire roster with barely 11M...

Re: Lebron - The Decision

You know what I reckon...Bron knew of this chance to join Miami through the season and declared that he would honor MJ's jersey and "retire" it knowing very well that he could wind up in Miami, a team which already had MJ's number retired in honor of the great man. Now Bron being Bron would of wanted this in his own terms so he over shadowed this by calling for a league wide retired jersey...also making him one of the last people to wear the number. What you reckon?

Re: Lebron - The Decision

I reckon whenever Bron is doing something that doesn't require 2 hands, he has 1 hand down his pants ;)

Re: Lebron - The Decision

Well after thinking about it for a little while, Bron is still a first rate knob (has just managed to surpass Kobe which i thought was impossible). But i think you guys are dreaming if you don't think the Heat are contenders. I can see Joel Anthony and Chalmers starting and maybe a Mike Miller signed to the mid level exception as the fifth starter (Brad Miller is another possible mid level type guy, even Shaq might be interested :)). I think there will be enough guys happy to be part of the Heat machine to fill out the roster. They also have 4 second rounds from this year and last to fill out roster slots 11-15 that don't really impact on the cap.

And if the all signed for 12mil a year, then things could get very interesting

LeBron's "cowardly betrayal": Open letter to Cavs fans from owner Dan Gilbert

I assume its legit.

From:Open Letter to Fans from Cavaliers Majority Owner Dan Gilbert :InsideHoops

Dear Cleveland, All Of Northeast Ohio and Cleveland Cavaliers Supporters Wherever You May Be Tonight;

As you now know, our former hero, who grew up in the very region that he deserted this evening, is no longer a Cleveland Cavalier.

This was announced with a several day, narcissistic, self-promotional build-up culminating with a national TV special of his “decision” unlike anything ever “witnessed” in the history of sports and probably the history of entertainment.

Clearly, this is bitterly disappointing to all of us.

The good news is that the ownership team and the rest of the hard-working, loyal, and driven staff over here at your hometown Cavaliers have not betrayed you nor NEVER will betray you.

There is so much more to tell you about the events of the recent past and our more than exciting future. Over the next several days and weeks, we will be communicating much of that to you.

You simply don’t deserve this kind of cowardly betrayal.

You have given so much and deserve so much more.

In the meantime, I want to make one statement to you tonight:

“I PERSONALLY GUARANTEE THAT THE CLEVELAND CAVALIERS WILL WIN AN NBA CHAMPIONSHIP BEFORE THE SELF-TITLED FORMER ‘KING’ WINS ONE”

You can take it to the bank.

If you thought we were motivated before tonight to bring the hardware to Cleveland, I can tell you that this shameful display of selfishness and betrayal by one of our very own has shifted our “motivation” to previously unknown and previously never experienced levels.

Some people think they should go to heaven but NOT have to die to get there.

Sorry, but that’s simply not how it works.

This shocking act of disloyalty from our home grown “chosen one” sends the exact opposite lesson of what we would want our children to learn. And “who” we would want them to grow-up to become.

But the good news is that this heartless and callous action can only serve as the antidote to the so-called “curse” on Cleveland, Ohio.

The self-declared former “King” will be taking the “curse” with him down south. And until he does “right” by Cleveland and Ohio, James (and the town where he plays) will unfortunately own this dreaded spell and bad karma.

Just watch.

Sleep well, Cleveland.

Tomorrow is a new and much brighter day….

I PROMISE you that our energy, focus, capital, knowledge and experience will be directed at one thing and one thing only:

DELIVERING YOU the championship you have long deserved and is long overdue….

Dan Gilbert

Majority Owner

Cleveland Cavaliers

Re: Lebron to Miami

I kinda like the Heat, but now I kinda hope they bomb and the egos can't work together because it seems a bit stupid/greedy for them to go all-out on 3 star players and have to fill the remaining roster...

Re: Lebron to Miami

just heard the news and my jaw just dropped to the ground! how the hell is it gonna work with wade and james?

Re: Lebron to Miami

The ring chasing free agents will come running and will play for the league minimum. Heard a rumour that Shaq is looking at going to Miami.

Re: LeBron's "cowardly betrayal": Open letter to Cavs fans from owner Dan Gilbert

That's ridiculous.

The first half of the article is complete bull, because if he had chosen Cleveland Dan Gilbert wouldn't have said anything about the build-up.

Extremely bitter, border-line immature.

I don't see how it's betrayal. They are called free-agents for a reason. And despite popular belief, they are people who make choices for what's best for them at the end of the day.

Even as a Miami fan I'm not naive enough to think Wade cares about Miami more than himself. We just got lucky.

Gilbert get over yourself, you just made some extremely ridiculous threats that you will not be able to fulfill.

But seriously... Well done, you've made everything better for Cleveland now... not.

Re: LeBron's "cowardly betrayal": Open letter to Cavs fans from owner Dan Gilbert

he states cleveland will win a championship before lebron... NO WAY

Re: Lebron to Miami

There will be veterans and established players who come knowing they can win.

Pat Riley's phone will be ringing off the hook now. Anyone who thinks it will be "difficult" to fill those other 7 spots doesn't know basketball. Get a group of great players together and the role players always come.

As for how they will work I'm not sure.

But let me say, for each of them to take a pay-cut, and a substantial one at that (something un-heard of in professional sports) - that should show that they are committed to winning.

Whether they will be able to retain that attitude when they suit up to play is another thing in itself, but if there are any signs from the Redeem Team in 2008 it's that they can co-exist together if they want to.

They are all young and have learnt from the previous generation of stars who never won anything. Guys like Nash, Kidd, Garnett (until Boston), Carter, McGrady, Iverson etc are all known for not winning it. Oh I forgot Dirk as well.

I don't think the stats would dip incredibly. Look at it this way all 3 guys are going to be legit options.

Bosh will get his 18. Wade and LeBron could easily get 25 each in my books.

Jon Barry said it best on ESPN, LeBron will be playing like more of a "Magic Johnson" instead of a "Michael Jordan" who will probably be Wade.

When is the last time we legitimately had 2 of the 3 best players in the league on the same team? Kareem and Magic maybe?

It is very exciting for Heat fans in particular. The only thing that dampens it for me, is it will be disappointing not seeing Wade and/or LeBron put on individual dominating performances like they would for their respective teams.

Any other ideas? Agreements? Disagreements?

I honestly think it can work very well if Bron can accept less points per game and sacrificing the big pay check says he's willing to do so. As a team player Bron could be a monster 20-10-10+ and have Wade as the superstar offensive player on the team that he already is. It really will all hinge on Bron being able to hold back the ego and do whats best for the team imo

why weren't they motivated to the maximum level when Lebron was there!

Go Miami!!!

Re: LeBron's "cowardly betrayal": Open letter to Cavs fans from owner Dan Gilbert

Cleveland have brought this upon themselves imo, if they had built the team properly and committed fully to winning a championship they would have done a better job of bringing in a better supporting cast for James. Boo hoo Cleaveland you had 7 years to get it right and you failed as you have many times before.

Money won't be an issue. LeBron makes so much off endorsements it more than covers what he would be losing. If anything he still makes a significant amount more than Wade, and obviously a ridiculous amount more than Bosh.
