After watching the interview Matty Johns had with Inglis on The Matty Johns show on Thursday night and reading what's in the news you can say that this is really going to be a big wake up call for the NRL.

Inglis pretty much said that he was leaving his options open, he said that he loves Melbourne and after moving his entire family down to Melbourne he's not going anywhere. That is where the problem lies, Melbourne Storm need to offload a star player like Inglis and with Essendon having interest since Sheedy was there, I think he will cross over.

Greg's skills are way above Hunt & Falou's with the Sherrin and would make an easy transition, this would not be a publicity stunt either because Essendon have nothing to gain from getting Inglis other than a star player in the making.

What's your thoughts on this?

Be interesting to see if the AFL would make up more than 50% of his wage like they are with GC17 & GWS. I'm an Essendon supporter and don't hate the idea, he's a talented althlete and would be worthwhile giving him a go.

Wont have a big impact.

Sure he can run, mark etc, but unless these NRL guys can kick they are useless.

and to Brandon, not sure whether you watched last Friday nights game, but dare I say it we will be closer to a Premiership when Inglis' NRL contract expires than the Bulldogs.

As an NRL guy, this is tragic. I agree however that he'll be better than the other 2 in AFL. IMO AFL is just a few more NRL signings and a Storm collapse away from having Aussie sport in a by the balls!

umm... no

GI is one of my favourite non St.George players, hopefully he stays, but if he goes well the NRL will need to start thinking of ways to keep the stars.. Folau will do nothing in AFL kHunt will be better, but i reckon K.Gidley would be a good rover in AFL...

The Falou & Hunt signings are publicity stunts and that's why there is so much money involved but I hope Inglis isn't expecting the same sort of money because he will not get anywhere near that amount.

good i hope he goes so panthers resign michael gordon and dont hold out for this cheat

 Agreed

However yes i think players should play the game they are good at. Folau is being paid more than proper AFL players! its beyond a joke! And its a dissapointment both to other AFL players and the whole of the NRL. I just find it rediculous
Cheers

Yeah i reckon Inglis would be a much better player than the other two, i reckon Hunt is gonna be sh!thouse...his kicking technique is rubbish, be interesting to see his first game next week! I reckon Izzy could be alright though his a Buddy Franklin type i reckon, give him a season or two and could be sensational! Im actually lovin these massive NRL stars coming accross...sorry guys but i cant really stand NRL

I'm looking forward to Hunt's first run next week which is against Coburg from memory, his first training run last week didn't show a lot but it showed enough to say the basics are there and that is it.

Players like Jim Stynes and Setanta O'hAilpin from Ireland, they took years and years to develop but look at how they played after years of development. Brownlow great Jim Stynes took a few years until he started showing great form and the same goes for Setanta O'hAilpin, he is starting to show great form for Carlton and he has been in the system for approx 6 years.
