Gday guys,
What do you think i should do,
Customer purchased a 2010 album and cards off me, Was posted on the 20th may from wollongong to sydney.. Customer claims he has not received it yet, Was addressed to a post office box.

I have my return address on the back and it has not been returned to me.
Do i refund this guy??????
What else can i do.
Your opinions?

its a hard one from the buyers POV he would be wondering if he has been ripped off but from your POV it was obviously not sent registered post so the onus falls on the service provider ie, AUSPOST.

I have not had this happen to me personally whilst selling on ebay but I have been on the other end where stuff did not arrive.

Did you offer registered post as an option cause if you did and the buyer elected normal post then tough titties to the buyer, you did what you could to ensure safe arrival.

Not much help I know but it all depends really on how worried you are about the effect on your feedback. If he negs you then all u can do is respond, buyers can't leave negative feedback, if you are worried about receiving positive feedback then refund the cost of the item but not postage.

Its one of those things. Without registed postage it makes it really hard. You could raise an investigation with Australia Post, but i doubt they can do anything. It will probably come back to your word against his. Possibly raise a dispute with eBay arguing your side, but will most likely result in negative feedback.

I guess its whats more important, the negative feedback or the principle/money

Oh... and to add to that. I purchased something from a reputable on-line store. The postage method i think was eParcel or something along those lines... one you had to sign for anyway. Long story short i never received it. I complained to the company who sent it who complained to Australia Post... they sent the POD (proof of delivery) which shows the signature who signed for it. They claim the i signed for it and the scribble on the form was my signature. Utter lies!!!!! I believe 100% that the person who delivered it (who just so happened to be a young guy new that day) forged my signature and took my goods!! And the check of Australia Post - they came back and said no way to prove it so sorry...

Even a trackable form of postage is unreliable!!!!

Hi mate find out what post office the cards would of went to (in his area) and get there phone number and call them, you should post registered man its only $2.80 extra, hope you sort it out.

Thanks for those replies.
Veny, I understand that registered is only$2,80 extra, But when selling on ebay, people see postage charges, and it can at times determine thier purchases, if you know what i mean

i've been in this situation before. it can down to my word against his. i offer registered post for all items and for expensive cards ie. over $20 i give them no choice. it really comes downn to u but i would offer to replace the item for free and get the person to pay for registered post so they have no excuses

Sorted guys, thanks for your input.
Customer asked at p.o and they had not put a card in his letterbox.
He has it now and let positive feedback,
