Re: PS3 NBA2K10 Online Season

Sorry Jimbo...suddenly got the call for dinner and didn't feel like hearing about it all night... You can keep the win if you wish, you were well on top and it's totally my fault.

Man that's an early dinner at 5:30!

Fair call though, I don't know how to deal with this situation I'm going to consult Michael. No worries though I understand.

Yeah...help cooking it is what is the major thing in this. I thought I was fine to go off and do my own thing, apparently not. The joys of a relationship!

So yeah, you can keep the win, or I can reset it, but you're definitely well within your rights to keep the win as I turned off the PS3 by my own will and volition.

We'll have an exhibition sometime to get the competitive edge out ;)

NOTE: This is the 2nd time this has happened, once against Nick (Verse/Thunder) where I was up by 16, so was most definitely not due to me losing!

No worries.

I guess as admin your giving me permission to do what I want, so I will probably keep the win.

The main reason is that I hate doing games over, because the opposition then knows what you did right in that game, and can zone in on it in the next game. That takes away any advantage you had in the first game, when the drop-out wasn't your fault or the networks fault.

Yeah I know you wouldn't drop out due to losing - your a fierce competitor.

I'm consulting Michael to see what he thinks and will then make my decision.

No worries, though I already knew you'd attack the paint with Iggy at every opportunity, so was apparently already trying to zone in on that! ;)

Take the win, you earn't it, even though it wasn't a whole game.

He had a fast start with 14 points. 8 on the fast-break though off quick outlets from Chris Paul so not like it was cheesing.

Thanks mate I'll do that. I think I had your number in the 1st anyway, containing Billups and also possession for the start of the 2nd up 7 already.

Definitely have an exhibition game, we both need to test out players for our "lottery picks" in the next season :mad:

Also: on the downside our regular season individual player stats will take a slight hit ha!

Oh wasn't saying you were cheesing! It's basketball, you score how you can, who cares if it's inside, I mean seriously :)

Look forward to a contest sometime, and yes..."lottery" Need to test some other teams out for players!

Yeah they will...Mannnnnnnnnnnn!!!!!!! I'm sorry dude. I know I hate that sort of thing! Was so pissed when the old Atlanta cut us out at 3 quarter time, even though I got the win.

I'll be up to knock some league games out tonight so whoever is on hit me up

Haha yeah it's not too bad. Since we've played most of our games the stats don't change that much.

I have my eye on who I think may be my first round pick. Hopefully it's not the same as who you were thinking!

After the first 2 rounds it is seriously depressing though.

I'll be on later tonight for one. I think we have tried twice before but been cut out. Hopefully 3rd time lucky.

I have notcied that when i have been in games with network issues in the 1st quarter, if i reset and attempt to play straight away then game has completed everytime.

Sorry for the long PM Michael - was just buzzing with excitement and felt your experienced self would have a word or two to say on the matter.

Reply whenever you feel so obliged haha.

Cool mate i'll be on about 7.30-10ish so we'll get it out the way. If there's any network probs the reset sounds good, i'll be up to keep trying:v:

Re: PS3 NBA2K10 Online Season

I think if you've both sorted out that you're happy for the win to be recorded to Philli then so be it.

Personally, i'd probably still replay it as frustrating as it is. I was in a game against Philli and up by 20 in the 2nd when Jimbo's Dad unplugged the network cable.

I can see both sides though and it sounds like you're both agreed. The loss doesn't really affect Ben's position or seeding whilst Philli is in a position where every win counts.

I agree about scewing the stats and would suggest that if the win is being confirmed to Philli, then the game be reset and awarded to Philli as a sim win so as to not affect the stats. After all, our end of season stats will be going into the record books :)

Likewise with the Atlanta/Denver game from earlier in the season. Unless you happen to come across Atlanta one night looking for a game and reset and play it (checked the schedule and that game is actually from one of the last rounds of the season, not sure how u guys managed to play that one first...must have dissed the first attempt and retried straight away)

No worries. I'm happy to make a decision and stop wasting peoples time who are reading all of this.

Yeah sorry about that one, it was the only one that's happened all season and was a one-off kind of freak mistake. No matter I guess as you swept me 2-0 regardless.

I'll accept the win and am happy for (as you suggest Michael), the win to be awarded as a sim win as to not affect the stats.

Re: PS3 NBA2K10 Online Season

Got my game with Atlanta out of the way, first 2 and a half qtr's were tight and then Ray Ray, One of the best shooters in the world  (Peirce) and KG got moving and powered through to concrete the win. Very good game though mate!

2 wins to go for the unbeaten season! Dallas and New Orleans left...can be on all day from Wednesday - Friday now fellas if you wanna organise a time ;)

Re: PS3 NBA2K10 Online Season

On a different note, regarding the history books and stats keeping etc.

What kind of other things should we keep, any good ideas?

We've recorded triple-doubles, maybe keep the top 3 leaders in each major statistical category at seasons end (points, boards, assists, steals, blocks, maybe percentages?)

How do you guys feel about voting on/electing an All-NBA 1st Team and an All-Defensive 1st Team? This could be based on regular season performance but also given team success a bit of weighting? Or maybe one All-NBA Team for the East and one for the West, the top five players in each conf.

e.g. East would be something like Rondo, Wade, Iggy, LeBron and Dwight (roughly just off the top of my head)
West is harder to pick with lots of losing teams but maybe Nash, Kobe, Melo, Durant, Yao

The five best players the season has had, two guards, two forwards and one center and maybe an honourable mention?

I feel so attached to my team haha. But seriously a cool idea?

Was great to get on and take on the leader of the pack.

That first half was intense and whilst I was down ten points at half time felt I was pushing you out of your comfort zone a little, whilst really running this Hawks team to their limits, was great fun.

Thanks again for allowing the extra long pause was very good sportsmanship.

Unfortunately the third quarter I couldn't keep pace with you and was trying to cuddle/settle a little guy and continue the game. Was a little dissapointed with my second half effort as I thought I was a real chance to keep it under a 20 point loss but that third qtr hurt me bad and from thee playing catchup and you had me out of my comfort zone.
Managed to find some Joe Johnson groove in the fourth which I will take into the future games and Teague off the bench pulled off some good moves.

Oh and you killed me on the boards damn Perkins, KG, Sheed! :)

Still a great contest and look forward to playing each other again.
