About me...

Well I'm going to be completely honest, I've never used a forum before let alone a site like this. I'm into Facebook and MSN but forums aren't my thing.

My goal for joining OzCardTrader is to complete my set of inserts from the annual Herald Sun Footy Cards collections and future ones too.

I hope to have fun dealing with other collectors and completing my collection.

Not at the moment...until I find people who like the way I deal. Also I only like complete sets which is why I love the Herald Sun Footy Cards.

basketball is huge all over australia and even baseball.I dont have any footy or cricket cards.
Have a look on the (other stuff section) for the tennis.

I collect baseball and basketball.

Dont worry...your request to meet up isnt uncommon.
I prefer to do it that way...have a chat/drink and a few trades.

Hi,

you mention you can't buy online 'cos you don't have a credit card,
there's lots of options to buy online and send someone payment.
also trading is even easier 'cos you just post cards to eachother.

you might get a few trades done meeting up with people, especially if you line it up
with a card fair, then you can meet up for a group trade and maybe set up a regular meet.

three ways to buy online come to mind appart from the obvious, by post.

1. Bank deposit (straight from your pc or any bank/post)

2. Paypal (you can accumulate funds by selling, or you can withdraw
Direct from your bank account until you do, when you sell a card, keep the money in paypal to buy.

3. Debit Card – just like a credit card but a regular savings account that lets you pay by visa ect from your regular account, you can link it up with Paypal too, it does not require credit history or anything, it’s just a regular bank account that has visa access.

i'd say basketball is by far the biggest sport on this site! i may be biased though

hope you get some good trades/sales etc here and yeah, footycard above has provided some good options to online stuff rather than having to meet up every time, although it's not unheard of!

I've created an eBay and Paypal account but I still have to set up NetBank. So I guess I can do things the normal way now...

paypal is awesome cause there's buyer protection for transactions whereas I think bank (netbank doesn't) so if you buy off ebay it's prob better to pay using paypal whereas here netbank would be ok if it's a trusted member but people usually like paypal cause it's instant and they use it again to pay for their own purchases.

better off having paypal actually loaded into the account also as opposed to having a bank card linked to it cause you will get charged a % fee for the payment whereas if it has $$ in there it will be no fee to make the payment.

As for receiving payments - there'll be a fee also, you can avoid this, which a lot of people do, by using personal payment owed (or gift), but the mods here don't advocate this because there is no protection for that method so mainly advise you to use that, again, with more trusted reputable members.
