Ha i couldn't help myself, i now have a PS3 on the way with HDMI cable, GTA4 and Assasins Creed. Should go nice on the 1080 LCD and give me some well deserved R&R before going back to work :D
I'll use my Chrissy Westfield gift cards to pick up 2k10 & Modern Warfare 2 later this week :kick:
 
Why PS3 Why Not Xbox 360 way better games as Xbox have direct ports from PC games , Playstation used to lead but as a pure gamer machine PS3 does not compare to Xbox 360 .

Always had PS and needed a Blu Ray player so it was the logical choice. I don't have the cash to buy a Blu Ray + console and im waiting impatiently for GT5 to come out so that was a big factor also :thumbsup:

Yeah used to like gran turismo but it pales in comaprison to forza , bluray is cool but they have had heaps of problems always the case with first gen Technology.
 
Yeah im not a massive gamer so i'll tend to stick to what i know when it comes to consoles. As for blu Ray i just want to try the sh!z out, i've had the 1080i lcd for almost a year now and Free to air still isn't up to date just yet so need something to show me what this bad boy was made for :D

You made the right choice IMO, i have a ps3 and love it. Perfect for everything! Games, Movies, Blu-ray, music, free internet connectivity and with the new play tv connector it can even be used as a top box! Best thing ive ever bought :D

Modern Warfare 2 is now also on its way along with the PS3 haha
Just need to get me a copy of 2k10 and possibly a couple of nice new Blu-ray movies (Inglorious Basterds & T4) and im set :D

There is alot of them fro overseas that iwll not work on a PS3 because of region locking on movies. I baught a ****load of movies and they do not work because of this reason.

So be careful what you buy (I think some have no region on them)

lol just went out today to do the same thing. The old PS2 just isnt cuttin it no mo. I was all keen to grab 1 with the boxing day sales on but no descent specials on them :(. Altho there was a 250gb 1 with play TV for $550 which wasnt to bad i guess.
 
Yeah i just got mine through JB as none of the shops were open here today for some reason.
Mine was the 120gb version for $520 with the HDMI cable + GTA4 + Assasin's Creed so thought stuff it i'll grab it, its only going to get spent on another piece of card board anyway haha

i got a ps3 250gb with playtv yesterday for chrissy and im loving it. i recomend you get play tv...its awesome. just as good as tivo..and im sure tivo is worth around $600 on its own
 
I have foxtel so it wouldn't work with it i don't think. Im pretty sure you can upgrade foxtel to the i.q pretty cheap now so will probably go that way.
Hows the PS3? Can't wait for mine to arrive :kick:
