Ive been thrashing Deftones "Saturday Night Wrist" for ages, its such an underrated album from an underrated band. it feels like such an introspective kinda record, you wouldnt put it on at a party or anything, its like something you listen to in the car every day, just let it soak into you. theres straight up hard rock but theres some ABSTRACT **** in there too, really cool sounds that refuse to be radio friendly. heres a selection:

Did you see them earlier in the year at the Tivoli? They were insane! They were the "support act" for Serj Tankian and The FCC (being a former SOAD fan I was there for Serj) Though Serj sucked and Patton and Fantomas were just crazy!!! No Dave Lombardo on the drums but it didn't seem to matter!

I did not go actually. I regret it big time now. I was not really in a concert mood at the start of the year. I heard the Melvins also played in Melbourne since Buzz was out with the Fantomas, they played Houdini in it's entirety.
I'm sure Tomohawk will be next. They include the guitarist from Jesus Lizard.
I will be getting myself a ticket for Soundwave. I heard Trivium will be there too.
