The Official LA LAKERS thread!!

Wrong, wrong, wrong. The team MUST give it a huge go to close this one out next game. When an opponent is on their knees you don't allow them any mercy. Drop the next and Magic have one of those mad 3 pt shooting nights they are capable of in g6, then we are down to a toss of the coin g7.

Time to focus and close this out in 5.

Spot on mate. A Staples Finals victory would be awesome, but I'd be wanting this finished tonight no matter where it was.

Milwaukee, Oklahoma... Who cares?

Win it Tonight!

Broadmeadows would be ideal, I'm like 5 minutes away! :woot:

A few Laker games would get me down that way a little more often.

But that said, it's much better than it was when I was a kid. ;)

NBA champioship game in Broady... That's interesting lol Hope your boys can pull it out in 5!

I use to go to the Broady Bronco's home games years and years ago, can't say that stadium would even be big enough for LA's celebrity row. Ticket prices would be through the roof.

But yeah, back to the game, Bynum looking good in his minutes so far. :)

:lol::lol::lol:

If we can keep up this pace then they're burning for a good cause. :D

I'm far from celebrating but let's hope if we can take todays game, the fans in LA can keep their composure. You don't want illegal celebrations overshadowing a Finals victory. It's never good for the team.

12 Huge minutes coming up...

Dwight one foul away.

Got caught up with work and missed tracking the game on the 'net...but THAT should silence the Laker Haters out there!! Can't wait to see the replay on One.

Destiny fulfilled!!

Well deserved win by a truly great TEAM!!!

Kobe has always been a great player and has now become a great leader as well.:worthy::worthy::worthy:

Awesome support this season from Gasol, Odom and Fisher....Bynum was useful at times....whilst Ariza may have been the X-Factor that we needed to take the extra step.

And what can you say about Phil Jackson??? 10 titles just about says it all doesn't it??? LEGEND!!!:worthy::worthy::worthy:

10 and Zen!!! :woot:

Man that's a great feeling to see them back up there again.

Kobe well deserving of that MVP Trophy, no premature reaches today.

Silencing Haters? It will never happen. But what better comeback to have than;

We've got it locked for a year! Unless we go Back to Back........ ;)

*I don't tend to agree with the 'world' part, but today I'm running with it!

Kobe was...well...Kobe in this series. A W meant the world to him as you can now remove the *can't win without Shaq from his titles.

Odom came to play this series and played a great supporting role.

Fish had an interesting series. Take out two 3 pt shots and he had a shocker. Include those shots and he was pivotal to the series win...basketball is a funny game at times.

Ariza showed enough x-factor to be rewarded with a solid contract for the next few years. His ability to create steals at crucial moments was inspirational. His second half in g4 helped turn the series to LA's favour.

The Machine went missing and needs to reflect over summer

Walton did OK with limited opportunities.

Farmar couldn't take the next big step on the big stage.

Bynum just couldn't stop fouling and had 0 impact.

But for me, the player of the finals was Pau Gasol. He hasn't quite dispelled the soft tag and did go missing with Odom in the one L, but his D on Howard with the 3/4 fronting was exceptional. Then when Bynum was on the floor he managed to totally shut down Lewis...such a versatile big man. Another solid line today...he is the help Bryant has needed since Shaq left town.

15th title win.
10 rings for Jackson
Lakers back to where they belong - the undisputed world champions.

So very, very, very happy...GO LAKERS!!!!

Can you ring Chad on behalf of all the Lakers supporters on Ozcards and check in on him? (read - RUB HIS NOSE IN IT!!!!;))

Yeah well done. Current world champs, something you get to gloat about for 12 months. That is till we get our title back ;-)

Disappointing finals series by the Magic, any of the other two Eastern powers would of pushed the lakers a bit more. Its a shame we didn't get to see that for better viewing from a non supporting viewer.

You got your title and sure, Bynum was the key in getting it LOL

Few more titles to go till you catch us :-D

Enjoy it and soak it up boys, its a great feeling.

NOW can we agree that Dwight Howard is overhyped???

Well done to the Lakers, I think the person who felt he had the most to prove was kobe, he wanted it to show that he could do it without Shaq. A great series win by the Lakers and deserved champions!
