It all started when we thought it would be nice to have a Rioli trading card, so went to the newsagent and "voila" a Rioli in our first pack. Then we find out there are golds and silvers and other Rioli cards.
We look online and find this site, but a lot of people have strange sounding cards, holofoils and star gems. We can't trade with them because we dont have the things they want. We have an idea, we'll get a full box of these "other" cards just so we can trade, but THEN we get a buddy mascot gem!! and a full set of Hawk holofoils!, our favourite team!. We get 2 Geelong star gems and Geelong is our 2nd team!
We want to keep all these cards so still have not much to trade with!!
Now we're collecting both Teamcoach and Select, and I realise there is no end to this. We're hooked!

yeah, we've just bought the 2008 Gold Rioli signature card on ebay so I am hoping it comes in good packaging.

The card we bought is the gold DPS, it has an authentication on the back thats says it is was genuinely hand signed. Ive seen several and they all look slightly different.

i know exactly what you mean mate. i started with my richmond collection when i was a yougster, the 1990 set i think. back then it was the complete sets i collected, but with so much variation nowadays i had to just focus on a richmond collection. since then i have replaced all the cards i had as a kid with mint condition versions, and can now afford some of the cards i couldn't back then. it is great to have all the DPS (except the cotchin platinum) and all the inserts i could only dream about back then. 1500 cards later and chasing the next card is still as much fun as finding my first. thank god for sites like this (and ebay to a degree) coz otherwise the collection would probably be only a third of the size it is (and probably cost me more too!) Good luck with your hawks collection, i hope it keeps growing daily for you!

That story sounds familiar. I purchased my first box of this years select and the plan was just one box but I scored with the Hawks Double Trouble. 8 boxes later and I still can't score that Buddy Mascot.
