Hi,

I was browsing through the new trading card listings on ebay and happened to see this up:

THE GREATEST MICHAEL JORDAN COLLECTION IN THE WORLD$$$$ - eBay Rookies 1980-89, Basketball-NBA, Cards, Sports Mem, Cards Fan Shop. (end time 15-Jun-09 21:00:00 AEST)

The seller has been discussed about on this website a couple of times, hanizena. I have to admit after looking at a more accurate description of what cards are inlcuded by going through his Photobucket Website, there are some extremely nice cards there. I'm not quite sure about the $450,000.00US Buy It Now price, maybe more like it cost him $450,000.00US .

Now on a serious not though, it's a top notch collection he has there and hopefully he should get a good price on this lot. I think it's going to be very hard to find that one individual who would like to start up with a very cool Michael Jordan collection, but hey you never know. It was hard to pick out only one, but my favourite from what I could see was this card here:

So I'm not here calling out hanizena considering he just registered on here very recently (if anything this is more of an advertisement for him if you would like to look at it like that way), but just putting it up to get opinions as to how much people in this great hobby think is a more realisitic price on how much this listing could sell for. Personally, I think he's be extremely lucky to get $10,000 - $20,000US. What do you think?

Regards :v:

P.S. Has anybody seen any of these cards before (I love the Bulls Head Patch), it's apparently a 1 of 1:

Re: Has anybody seen the latest Michael Jordan Lot of cards "BIN" listed for US$450,0

I have bought from him before and he is a great seller. Excellent cards, excellent communication and service.

But he overshoots it here by miles. Some real good cards, 15 Autos okay. But 10k may still be a good deal for him.

The problem is, that the higher-end cards are mainly from the 2000s. Cards from the 90s are the real deal and there is not even 1 MJ-Auto out of these days included in that auction. Also, no High-End-90s Inserts, graded cards do not include a BGS 10.

The big card is indeed that above pictured Exquisite Masterpiece.

That other 1/1 is self made and could be bought on a US-auction site for around 40 USD.

Nice lot there, but way outta my budget! That last card is custom made, a whole lot of them have hit ebay of rescent and isn't worth the cardboard it's printed on.

Re: Has anybody seen the latest Michael Jordan Lot of cards "BIN" listed for US$450,0

Some very nice cards but definitely not worth the asking price. The fact that the value of the cards mentioned in the auction relates to Beckett price can surely means that its real value should be discounted by about 80%.

I reckon anything over 10K would be doing well. As for those NSA cards, they are a waste of carboard! I reckon Jordan must have worn about 50 jerseys for that mob going on the amount of cards they have released with logo patches in them and I have never seen MJ wear a jersey with the bulls head on it. Sure they do have bulls heads on the shorts but they are much bigger in size and of a better quality than the patches ive seen in these cards.

Cheers
Matt

Hi there,

Just a short note mate about the "high end" Michael Jordan cards you say you bought off the seller. Nothing personal yeh , but I don't think the Power in the Key Insert card would be put in the category of high-end.

I like all the responses, very informative. The NSA card I have to admit I've never really seen them before, but does that mean that the Patches are legitimate GameUsed Michael Jordan and LeBron James game worn?

And with the fellas inserts, now I must admit that there is nothing total high-end like a Hoops Bams, Playmakers, Court Masters, Ultra Stars Gold, Star Power Supreme, SlamCam, or not even a Big Man on Court. But he still does have some very nice one's there in his lot such as the 1997-98 Thrill Seekers, Superstar Spotlight, Frequent Flyer UPGRADE, Championship Galaxy, Both Golden Touch cards and etc etc etc.

But the askin price is being totally non-realisitic, but maybe a really high amount would result in a really high best offer??? Example, if I really wanted $100 for a card I was selling on ebay and I wanted to list it as a Buy It Now ONLY, then I'd set the Buy It Now amount for $150 and then enable the "Send me Best Offers" option and hope that somebody would send me that $100 intial amount I was seeking.
I don't know about $450,000 though.

Re: Has anybody seen the latest Michael Jordan Lot of cards "BIN" listed for US$450,0

Yes, if talking MJ-High-End-90s we are talking E-X2001 Jambalaya, Big Men on Court, Ultra Stars Gold, Noyz Boyz, Hot Shots, etc. These beauties sell at 250+ easily.

And what you should also expect to be included in a 450k-auction are the real deals, like Skybox Premium Star Rubies /50, Playmakers Theatre /100, PMG /50, Z-Force Super Rave /50, 90´s Autos....

I think $450K is way toooo much aswell and maybe more like 10 to 15K would be more realistic. its good to see though the bloke has some rookies of his and some otehr nice inserts too. i'm loving the #ed 23/eg jersey card numberd ones. sick!

all the best sellin em anyway Alonzo33 (I think thats ur username here isn't it??)

Re: Has anybody seen the latest Michael Jordan Lot of cards "BIN" listed for US$450,0

Hi All,

I appreciate all your comments and discussions about my MJ collection and agree with you all that the asking price is possibly too much but I relying on the theory that Needforspeed mentioned in his previous message to obtain the best possible offer and in regards to high end inserts I ask that those interested in checking out my photobucket
Pictures by hanizena - Photobucket please have another look carefully as there are some unbelievable high end inserts such as 2 fleer team leaders, Big Man On The Court BG 8.5, both slam cams, Net Rageous, Premium Player, Off The Glass, Hooperstars, Starring Role, SP Championship Shots Gold, Gamebreakers, TSC 1st Day Issue, Thrillseekers, Ionix Skyonix and the list goes on.
All this and I haven't even mentioned his 7 Pop 1, rookies cards, 19 star cards, 110+BGS 9.5, PSA 10's, 12 BGS 10 and one of them is the Metal Titanium Clear Die Cut. Please note that I have only scanned a fraction of the inserts, BGS 9.5s, promo cards and premium base cards as it would take an eternity.
I am happy for anyone to send me a PM or message from this forum for further discussion and thanks again to all especially Needforspeed for opening this discussion up to everyone to voice their opinions and I appreciate as it gives me a good indication as to what the average card collector thinks.
Thanks again Hani

Re: Has anybody seen the latest Michael Jordan Lot of cards "BIN" listed for US$450,0

Hi guys,

Alonzo33, I'm sorry I stated that you didn't have any high-high end cards such as Big Man On Court, Hoops Bams, Playmakers Theatre, etc. when in actual fact there was atleast a Big Man on Court card in your Graded Cards album.

I'm sorry I didn't pay closer attention to all the albums your Photobucket consists of. And you don't need to thank me for putting up your ebay listing in a thread here for discussion, it's always a good thing to get your listings seen and talked about by the general hobby collecting public as it puts more attention and notice to it. Plus I just saw another member has just started a new thread about your listing aswell, more like a double thread of the same kind. I don't think he had noticed there was already one up.

All the best with the listing either way mate, as I see there's already been two seperate offers on it. Hopefully they were realistic offers and not timewasting low-ballers dreaming they could own a collection like the one you have listed.

Regards, Michael :v:

Re: Has anybody seen the latest Michael Jordan Lot of cards "BIN" listed for US$450,0

I'd agree with aussiemjfreak on the authenticity of the Autographed cards. One is totally legitimate being graded and autograph verified by PSA/DNA, but the other MJx Autographed card I'd have second doubts as to the legitimacy on that one. Unless it was some type of Buy-Back with an Upper Deck Hologram sticker on the back then it would be totally legitimate. The Autograph looks to be pretty similar as to that of MJ's, but Signature cards these days MUST have some form of authentication in order to be regarded as legitimate.

Re: Has anybody seen the latest Michael Jordan Lot of cards "BIN" listed for US$450,0

Wow, there are already 6 offers!

Re: Has anybody seen the latest Michael Jordan Lot of cards "BIN" listed for US$450,0

Yes you're right 6 offers. It's none of our business except Alonzo33's (hanizena) as to what the amounts are on each offer, but it'll be great to see what people have been sending as their offers. Just to see wether they're legitimate buyers or wether they're sending stupid and ridiculous offers such as $1,000 etc.

Re: Has anybody seen the latest Michael Jordan Lot of cards "BIN" listed for US$450,0

i would love this collection! it is beyond words! but something interesting to note also is in may/june issue of beckett, the story about mjs 23 best cards, makes an interesting statement, it states he has nearly 9000 cards and nearly 1000 autos and the value hovers around the $600,000 mark!, i understand his way of thinking that this is a ultimate collection and demands decent dollars, and i hope he gets what he is after, my guess is it will go for around $15000?
