Matt - i picked it up off ebay of all places. The lady selling it was a family friend of the Waughs and had 3 or 4 items for sale at the time, although this was by far the best one. She had an ACB training cap signed by Steve Waugh also that was a players only release which in hindsight i wish i also bought. I emailed her, offered her more than she was asking and also asked her to end the auction early and fortunately she obliged. I have an identical shirt that I bought at retail back around 1991 and the Mark Waugh one has the word "Australia" stitched on across the front rather than printed (the name on the back is stitched also), and the WSC logo on the sleeve is stitched in rather than printed. It is also a heavier cloth woven material rather than the cotton/poly t-shirt material, so i don't doubt its authenticity.
Awesome collections....i still have that genuine dennis lillee auto bat #92/100 if anyone local wants it...the guy wants $400 !! less than he payed 18 yrs ago.
And this isnt 1 of those bats signed in person at a game...unless you had it signed yourself theres a lot of dodgy fakes gettin arround..this 1 comes with a COA from county !!
