The Official LA LAKERS thread!!

Come on, FIRE UP!!!! FFS

That block from RZA should do the trick. There's no life in this game...

And on that note back to back Tre's from Kobe. Shut 'em DOWN!

Well, what can you do? They simply lacked the hunger tonight and relied too much on the outside shot, forcing threes when they simply were'nt dropping. Our bigs didn't do much for us inside and Kobe was only Kobe in glimpses tonight dispite his 30 plus. Tonights effort doesn't win pre season games let alone a playoff game.

If I were a betting man I'd be putting all my bank on the Lakers in game 2, no way they lose that one...

think phil will kill them if they plaed another game llike that!

And the Lakers screw me over AGAIN!!! I back them to lose and they win, and I back them to win, and they lose! Had $180 basicly in the bank on a multi with wins by Canterbury, Penrith, Leeds, and Liverpool, and a friggin $1.18 favourite goes down on their HOMECOURT!!! Now they'll most likely screw me over again by winning the championship over my Cavs! :(

Houston are a tough matchup in my opinion.

Any team with Yao on it poses matchup problems and since Gasol is known to be a ***** at times and Bynum struggles to play good defense without fouling Yao could continue to present problems for the Lakers.

Artest really played well today too, showing his maturity and leadership. Aaron Brooks will be an x-factor if he continues to burn Fisher like he did today.

Jordan Farmar should've run with him much earlier...

Whats happening Lakers??? How the heck you lose to the Rockets? :(

Alf i think the week off hurt us badly...We need to keep playing to keep motivated..Complacentcy is what the Lakers had today.......Rockets were just hungrier than us thats all...Brooks is a young guard that has no Playoff experience Yao hasnt passed the 2ND round in his career and wont this year
Artest and the Batman will be the key for them..Trying to stop Kobe and Kobe trying to get his team up and going....

I still think we will the series in 6....I thought they would get 1 Game in Houston but not in the Staples tho...You know i could have predicted a Rockets win today..

So lets get Game 2 HERE!!!!

At the risk of giving Chad's last post some credibility I think you're right. They were flat today, a little rusty, no momentum and only really hustling when they were trying to edge back in the game with 3 or 4 minutes left which is pretty soft considering there was little hustle throughout the game in it's entirety, just glimpses. I said it in the Utah loss in game 3 and I'll say it again for this game, don't expect another win relying on us to shoot so badly, it won't happen. And Aaron Brooks, enjoy the time you had in the paint today.... ;)

they were indeed quite flat... gasol and bynum couldnt get in a groove due to rockets pressure, their own poor play and foul trouble... no matter how well kobe plays, he cant do it on his own
