The Official BOSTON CELTICS thread

Perk is one of the most athletic big men around! How many time did he take it to the basket, as fast as a pg!

Don't get me started on Rondo, that kid will surely demand more respect from now on when he has the ball. How many times did they leave him open just to see him score or set up someone else?

Lucky to win? Wont win another series???

Ah your kidding? EVERY team has teams that they struggle against and the style of the Bulls is one of them for us. We are actually better matched to an Orlando than a Chicago for a grind it out series. This is testing us but after this series is hopefully over we do start the next series at 0-0 and home court once again.

Rondo can't play any better than what he is really.
Perk is a beast.

Pierce doesn't look right to me but showed today that when we need him he is there.
Ray Allen just got going today only to be showed the door with 3 off the ball calls.

You can't say we are playing that terrible, the bulls are playing out of their skins if anything. Even with the injuries I expect us to at least make conf finals. That would be a success and the rightful way to go out.

And how about Perk again!

And how old is Rondo again?? The best player of the playoffs for any player in any series so far easily!

Valid points Chad and Rondo and Perk have been exceptional.

With KG out Ray Ray has stepped it up in the games when he's needed to and of course it wouldn't be the playoffs without The Truth at least hitting clutch shots in one game (as he did).

Ben Gordon is making a statement though, I think that argument about who is more valuable out of Gordon and Deng should now be closed, because without Ben the series would already be over.

You are though, forgetting someone Chad, and I wouldn't have realised it myself if I hadn't stumbed upon the stats.

17.8 ppg, 7.6 rpg, 2.8 apg, 1.6 spg, 1.2 bpg, 41.2 minutes
45% FG's and 81% FT's oh and only 0.8 turnovers per game

whose stats through 5 games is that?

Glen Davis, who is filling the void left by Garnett. I find that amazing for a guy who averaged 7 and 4 in the regular season. I think above all his play has been a big difference despite the fact that Rondo is the one we've been giving the most credit to.

Those close to his avg's since baby has done as a starter in place of KG. Not just this series. He has been stepping it up for a month or more already. Remember avg's are for the entire year not just the second half of the year or last few months. When Powe went down Baby stood up then too. Baby has got great game now and developed his outside shot.

He will get a big contract extension off us soon.

?????????????

You needed to look at the stats to realise BBD has been HUGE of late this season and in the playoffs? Its been pretty obvious to all. Even Norm and he loves JR Smith! LOL He is obviously a confidence player like Perkins and both have that self belief now.

You surrendering already?

Great win by PP! That is what I was hoping after the first half... =D> =D> =D>

I knew Big Baby was having a big impact but I didn't notice how much he was scoring!

Can't blame me for adding my bit about Big Baby anyway, the last 2 pages only have you praising Perkins and Rondo so I thought you'd not realised or forgot!

Well stats aside Perk and Rondo were the clear standouts today thats why.

And yeah Alf a win in the ECF would be above expectations as you would well expect and surely agree. Our chances went south with KG's knee pure and simple.

I get you. I believe that we will go to the finals no matter who we play in the east. The reason why I say this is that all the other remaining teams will beat each other and will be too tired and exhausted before they meet us in the next rounds. I really would like the C's to get to the ECF so we can have a chance to avenge last years game 7 loss.

I am counting on your analysis that you guys would play better against the Magics considering that both of yous could get pass the Bulls and the Sixers.

Goodluck with this tight series.

PS: Rondo's numbers are unbelievable! He's averaging a triple double and 3.2 steals... =D>=D>=D> The Celtics saw this 2 years ago when they let go West and West isn't that bad, either.;)

When we say Rondo is prettier to watch than Delonte we really mean his IS prettier to watch LOL

Not bad considering we got Rondo in as trade fodder and for cash from the Suns at the time who didn't care about him one bit.

JR Giddens lit it up in the NBDL finals too. He fell behind Walker as our top rookie this year but JR is going to be a great player in this league. I just wish I was a fly on the wall and knew what went down between Doc and Gabe Pruitt.

And yeah Perk handing Dwight a hiding like he usually does would be great in the playoffs in front of all that media. Perk could show that even he has more than 2 offensive moves as well.

I would love to see that matchup.:)

What did happen btwn Pruit nd the Doc? Reminds me of when JR got on Scott's bad side...

Rondo is much more athletic and quick than Delonte though, and that's saying something because Delonte is fairly decent athleticism wise and in terms of getting up and down the floor.

But then Delonte has never been put into a situation where he has the green light to make things happen like Rondo, West is more of a complimenting player at the moment who can be effective as a 3rd option and play hard defense.

In no way am I saying Delonte could do what Rondo is doing haha just giving my boy some proper justification because he is a pretty damn good player.

Anyone hear what he had to say the other day when asked 'Do you think you can fill the big void of KG?'

He said something along the lines of;

'nah man, he's the big ticket... I'm more like the ticket stub'

Couldn't help but laugh. All jokes aside, he's been playing really well.

When Ray fouled out and Salmons and Gordon hit those threes, I thought it was all over but Boston just hung around and managed to send it to OT. Chicago executed really well and hit some really high pressure shots, I mean, damn, Gordon was ridiculous with some shots and Rose made a couple of big layups. Joakim Noah played really well IMO, hustling on the boards and being a nuisance on defense with the deflections. Tony Allen should be kicked HARD for fouling Gordon on a 3 point attempt at the end of OT. But PP damn...just stroking those mid range Js.

Rondo should buy a lottery ticket tonight after that. If those 2 fouls don't get you tossed, not sure what will. I guess a Celtic can't be suspended, must be something in the rules...

This series is a keeper!!! Just when you thought the Bulls were done, Brad Miller steps up when you least expect it...
