i have this situation.
a certain trader on this site was selling some starting lineups and i said i would buy one.
now i agreed had agreed to buy the item and he was going to get a postage price.
couple days run and he does get one, but then turned around within that day and said he was selling them all in bulk to another person instead.

what is your take on this.
as far as i see, if he was honest he should sell it to me as i got in first.

Yeh I had something similar happen. Agreed to a deal, then he listed them on another site trying to get more for them. They didnt sell so he came back to me saying they were mine if I want them. Needless to say I didnt buy them, I just kept asking for a better price, better price, better price, then just stopped. He stuffed me around so I returned the favour  ;)

Pretty low act I reckon, hard if its not done up on a trade thread first. But still, should stick to his word.

Well who ever it is playing the more money card if he did make a deal with you even off the record he/she should pull the deal through it's what we call ethical, but that is what a lot do they play the market around and have four people that want the card and sell it to the highest bidder that's what ebay is for!! .

If you make a deal before writing it up you should stick to it or just say let me think about it . If you have a card for sale and you have stated a price and someone says they will take it , then some other persons says to you i will pay more for it bad luck you have stated a price and the first person to pm or message gets it this is not a dutch auction .
Who ever is doing this should be put up so others can see not to get there time wasted by tyre kickers.

Regardless of whether it is "right" or "ethical" to do it, until you have a trade/sale thread up and agreed to by both members here, then there is nothing to stop one party or the other from backing out of the deal. If you want to seal the deal, post it up in the trade/sale section...if it falls through after it is agreed to there then you can take appropriate action.

Not too long ago I seem to remember you agreeing on a deal with me, then selling to someone else because they offered more.

Although I accepted your apology and have no hard feelings towards you, I dont think you can comment with any credability on this one bud.

Ryan

Pm sent about this.

SO what you guys are saying is u endorse guys playing dutch auction!!!!:blink::blink::blink::blink:

If i make a deal on record or not it's a deal !!!!

How is this a dutch auction either in the eBay sense (ie multiples of the same item) or the normal sense (starts high and progressively goes lower)?

Anyway, yes, its unethical. No, it won't make them friends. Bottom line, no thread, no repercussions.

Deleted. If anyone wants to know what happenend pm me.

Ethically/morally he should've sold it to you but he's probably getting better $ and if you hadn't signed a contract or made a thread saying it's a deal then I see why he could back out. I'm not going to criticise him because 50/50 of the time I'd probably do the same thing. Just being honest.

Basically I think that they should agree but disclose that until the thread is finalised they may sell as a lot if they get an offer.

My opinion is that they are clever and practical people if they will get more money or if they will sell it to someone who is a better buyer.

Agree with the doc on on this one. No thread, no deal. Until it's officially in writing, there is no proof it ever happened.

Cos youve never mucked around multiple people on this site have you?

Id do the same thing, If I was waiting to get a postage cost or waiting for a reply or something along those lines and I got an offer on a bulk lot then I'd take it too.
I don't understand why people take the Buyers side soooo much in the Hobby these days!!?!? If its more practical for a seller to sell as a bulk and theres no concrete deal in place (Trade Thread done) then stiff IMO.

P.S. Before I get ripped apart by anyone (buyers fairy godmothers and so on) I have never done this before and probably never will cos I try and get threads done ASAP!

P.P.S And NO Im not a big seller of cards at all, I just see it from both sides where most people see it from the only side they know of, the buyers.
