2K9 Tournament Recaps & Playoff Picture

Ducky has advanced via Simulation.

Game 1:
75-60

Game 2:
60-47

I'm now stuck trying to get it to advance to the 2nd Round.

I've found numerous posts online about the same thing, but no answer yet. If anyone knows....

I don't get it, shouldn't you guys just have the option to play now?

Nope.... It tells me the user is not accessible (or something along those lines).

I'm still trying to find the answer online...

Stupid question; but have you tried it while Ducky is online and logged into the tourney within 2k? I know it does that if the user isn't logged into their 2k leagues and just online on xbox.

I have no idea, still not sure how to make it progress to the 2nd Round.

It's still showing the winners in the first round.

I'll try again tonight, see what we can do.

Looks like we're at a halt again...

Cannot seem to get it to progress to the 2nd Round.

When you look at the Tournament Tree, it's only showing results from initial Round, and has not moved the winners to the 2nd Round.

If anyone has experience with these, please advise what the steps are. I logged back on last night briefly, went through each possible area with no success.

I'll continue to look on the web when I can, but it's not looking good.

I guess one way we can complete this Tournament, is to create another with just the winners, and go from there?????

This is my first attempt at a Tournament, with next to no knowledge on them previously, so I'm happy to put up my hand and say I f-cked it up.

Update...

I just found something I'll try tonight. Hopefully it works...

start NBA 2k9 from your PS3 console.
go to your online league.
go to "admin options".
go to "manage schedule".
then just press the "start"-button.
now the game asks you if you want to finish "round 1/week1".
answer "yes".
finally the game will create the playoff-tree and you can start the playoffs.

btw. you can change the matchups or home-court-advantage etc. in "admin", "schedule" on your league's website.

This is for PS3, so hopefully it's similar on the 360.

UPDATE!!!

We're away! Can't believe it was that bloody easy! And yet it took so damn long to find the answer.

Again, for reference...

Go to your online league, Admin Options (when you're an Admin), Manage Schedule, then press Start button...

anyone get flogged today? :P

No games played in our series just yet. Pretty busy this week between work and study, but I'll get on to PBD and organise a time, hopefully this weekend.

Glad to hear it's all good Scotty. Game On!

Looking forward to the second round!! Looks like it should be a preview of the first round of the actual playoffs with LA and PHO.... ;)

Definitely! Fighting for that 8th spot and it wouldn't be the first time the Suns and Lakers matched up. ;)

You good to go sometime tomorrow? We gotta work out the time differences and all that, I'll be pretty flexible being a sunday, let me know if it's a good day to play a game or three.

Any games in from the other series yet? If not all good, just need to know how much time I got to get this round done. :)

Round 2 Series WoobieZarz' Nets VS DuckyPoo's Spurs:

Game 1 saw the Nets venture out West to face the San Antonio Spurs, in what would be a classic confrontation.
The game opened with a battle of big men, as Brook Lopez & Tim Duncan battled on both ends of the court, until the Guards decided to turn it into a shoot-out, as the Nets held a tight lead 29-24 after one.

2nd Quarter started in similar fashion as both teams went on to rack up 12 three-point shot attempts, with a very poor conversion rate. Whilst the Spurs looked for some bench productivity behind Roger Mason and Matt Bonner, the Nets continued to maintain their lead behind an D.Harris' 8 points in the term leading 55-47 at the main break.

3rd Quarter and the scoring continued, as San Antonio Guard Tony Parker tallied 8 points in the term, helping his team recover as they trailed only by 9 points going into the 4th.

Start of the 4th saw the Nets drop back to back baskets stretching the lead further, before the Spurs countered with a classic outside shooting display. Not to be out done, the Nets turned up the intensity and clamped down on defence behind the newly formed "Twin Towers" of Yi JianLian and Brook Lopez, walking away victors 112-92 putting New Jersey 1 win from a Grand Final birth.

Devin Harris claimed P.O.G honors tallying 16 points, 18 assists, 4 rebounds, 2 blocks and 1 steal. Vince Carter finished with a game-high of 36 Points, while Lopez added 16 pts, 8 rebounds and 5 blocked shots. Yi also added 5 blocks, along with 17 pts, 3 rebs & 5 dimes.

San Antonio was lead by Roger Mason's 22 bench-points, and Tim Duncan's double-double of 20 points & 14 rebounds, also adding 2 steals & 3 blocks. Manu Ginobili added 18 points and Tony Parker managed 16 pts, 7 assists.

Game Notes:
Nets Free Throw Shooting 14/14.
Nets controlled ball-movement with 31 assists.
Nets interior Defence with 15 blocks & 27 defensive boards.
San Antonio's inside scoring with 62 points in the paint.
San Antonio's offensive rebounding with 8.

Round 2 Series WoobieZarz' Nets VS DuckyPoo's Spurs:

Game 2, the classic show-down style game that saw 1-win-away Nets play host to the hungry San Antonio Spurs.

With some changes to be had, San Antonio mixed it up with some changes to their Rotation, starting Roger Mason & Matt Bonner.

The game started in much the same fashion as Game 1, with the big men going head-to-head. San Antonio's Tim Duncan worked hard on the glass early on, racking up 5 rebounds in about 4 minutes, and totaling 8 points for the quarter.
The defensive efforts from both teams saw a low-scoring opening quarter as the Nets held an early lead of 18-16 behind superstar PG Devin Harris' 8 first-quarter points.

2nd Quarter kicked off, as San Antonio went straight back to the Big Man, Tim Duncan. As Duncan became quite the threat down low, the Spurs took advantage of the double-teaming from New Jersey, finding open men for easy jumpers.

Devin Harris lead the scoring, with 18 2nd quarter points on 8/9 shooting.

The quarter closed out in style, as Tim Duncan beat the shot-clock with a turn around fader with 3.2 seconds on the game-clock, only to have Nets Rookie Ryan Anderson hit a triple on the buzzer. The triple brought the Nets within 2 as the Spurs held a close lead 53-51 heading into the Half.

3rd Quarter and the Spurs All-Star PF Tim Duncan turned to ice. Missing his first 2 shots of the term, but finishing with 10 points for the quarter. Vince Carter started to heat up racking 15 points and helping the Nets outscore the Spurs 35-21, giving them a 86-74 lead heading into the final term.

Start of the 4th, and the Spurs were in a do-or-die situation. The Spurs started strong, behind some great outside shooting by Ginobili and Roger Mason, but as New Jersey held their foot firm on the pedal, behind numerous 3-point plays from Vince Carter, and their inferior defense leading to San Antonio TOs and New Jersey Fast Break Points.

The Nets claimed victory despite being outscored 23-19, winning the game, and the Series 105-97.

Once again, Devin Harris claimed P.O.G honors as he totaled 35 points, 13 assists and 4 steals. Vince Carter lead all scores with 38 Points along with 6 rebs, 5 dimes, 2 steals & 3 blocked shots. Rookie Lopez just 2 short of a double-double with 8 pts & 11 rebounds.

San Antonio was lead by All-Star Tim Duncan's 34 points (17/23 shooting), 12 rebounds, 6 assists, 2 steals & 2 blocks. Roger Mason backed up his Game 1 performance with 19 points, whilst Tony Parker added 15 points & 9 assists

Game Notes:
San Antonio's 32-24 Assists
New Jersey's 14-9 Steals
San Antonio's 12-6 Fouls
New Jersey's 68-56 Points In Paint

Stay tuned for the Lakers/Suns matchup, who will fail and who will move on to the first ever OzCard 2K9 360 Tournament Grand Final....

this is my after series press conference

really disappointed with that display

thought id be alot closer than i was but my 3pt shooting was horible

27% game one only to be 19% game 2 - major killer

mavs was able to make that one extra pass all the time to get a better shot

he killed me on the assists side

and dont talk about the under rated yi and lopez tandem in the paint.

they were blocking left and right

but all congrats goes to scottie

well played and good luck in final
